Maybe he shouldn't have colluded with her.

Ford cans PC candidate Granic Allen following YouTube video comments

PC Leader Doug Ford dumped one of his most high-profile candidates Saturday — fellow leadership contender and supporter Tanya Granic Allen — just hours after the Ontario Liberals released video of her talking about sex ed and gay marriage.

“Tanya Granic Allen will no longer be a candidate for Ontario PC Party,” Ford said in a statement.

In 2014 speech at the Croatian-Catholic Youth weekend conference in Norval, Ont., posted to YouTube and distributed by the Liberals, Granic Allen said, “You know, now what I hear about Hrvatska (Croatia) trying to push radical sexual education on the young or gay marriage you know I almost vomit in disbelief.

“Just 20 years ago we were liberated from this communism but now we are embracing these lack of values, these lack of ideals.”

Granic Allen came under scrutiny last month for comments posted on social media, first revealed by the Star, comparing women in burkas to “bank robbers” and questioning gay marriage. She was officially nominated for Mississauga Centre almost two weeks after the Star’s story, and publicly congratulated by Ford in a post on Twitter.

Granic Allen could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday, however, she tweeted following the dismissal that “I’m disappointed to have been told by @fordnation‘s campaign manager that I’m no longer a candidate. I’ll have more to say about this and Ontario politics in the coming days.”

Granic Allen says she's victim of 'trumped-up smears'

Social conservatives have been betrayed again, former PC candidate Tanya Granic Allen says in a message to her supporters.
In an e-mail sent out Monday, Granic Allen, the president of Parents As First Educators (PAFE), calls the allegations against her “trumped-up smears” and she reminds PC leader Doug Ford that her voters recently helped him defeat leadership rivals Christine Elliott and Caroline Mulroney.
In particular, Granic Allen said should voters choose Ford in the June 7 election, she’ll be watching to see if he revokes the controversial Liberal sex-ed curriculum.
“Doug Ford made commitments to me and the party, that it was not enough to review the (Kathleen) Wynne sex-ed, but it must be repealed and replaced, and parents can opt-out,” she said.

Granic Allen was forced out as the nominated PC candidate in Mississauga Centre Saturday night, after the Ontario Liberals released video of her as they put it, “spewing hate and homophobia.”
In the 2014 video, Granic Allen says she had heard that in Croatia there were attempts to “push radical education on the young or gay marriage – you know I almost vomit in disbelief.”
Liberal candidate Shelley Carroll said that these statements, along with her comments about Muslims and Jews, made her unfit to stand as a candidate for a major party.
Later that day, Ford removed her as candidate, saying her “her characterization of certain issues and people has been irresponsible.”
Social conservatives, promoting family values, were pivotal in former leader Patrick Brown’s leadership win and also in Ford’s success, Granic Allen said.
“When Doug Ford ran for leader, it was my votes, mainly comprised of social conservatives, which crowned Doug as leader,” Granic Allen said. “And what was the result of Doug Ford’s victory? I was removed by Doug Ford and his team as the democratically-nominated candidate, and another candidate was appointed instead.
“Clearly, Doug Ford is getting bad advice from his advisers,” she said.

Seems to me he shouldn't have worked with the lunatic fringe in the first place.

Social conservatives are idiots.
