Astronomers Admit: We Were Wrong—100 Billion Habitable Earth-Like Planets In Our Galaxy Alone

Estimates by astronomers indicate that there could be more than 100 BILLION Earth-like worlds in the Milky Way that could be home to life. Think that’s a big number? According to astronomers, there are roughly 500 billion galaxies in the known universe, which means there are around 50,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (5×1022) habitable planets. That’s of course if there’s just ONE universe.

In fact, just inside our own Milky Way Galaxy experts now believe are some 400 BILLION STARS, but this number may seem small as some astrophysicists believe that stars in our galaxy could figure the TRILLION. This means that the Milky Way alone could be home to more than 100 BILLION planets.

Those numbers may be irrelevant. Getting to another galaxy is next to impossible - even at 100 times the speed of light. And so far the hundreds of exo-planets that have been discovered have been found to be uninhabitable by Earth standards.

The planets are in our galaxy.

According to empirical evidence, it is still only one.

Is it? In our solar system alone there are also Mars, Enceladus, Europa, Titan, Triton, Callisto, Ganymede, Io, Dione, Charon and Ceres, each of which is very habitable. Jupiter's moon Europa, for instance, has a 60 mile deep global ocean under a 6 to 19 mile deep ice crust. It has more water than Earth and many scientists say the ocean could be teeming with life.

Show us some real extraterrestrial life. A real picture ... a link to something real ...a description of what has been found. I'd like to believe that the Universe is teeming with life, too but until something else is actually found, it is theoretical only and mostly still Sci-Fi.

There is no doubt at all that there are many places in the universe where life as we know it (and as we do not) could and does exist.

Earth is not unique in any sense.

I have doubts until someone finds one ... or actual proof of one.

Do you believe in God? Why or why not?

That's what I like about you, Hoid. Complete lack of evidence has no effect on your faith.
