Utter hubris on the part of the NDP. Even if the entire House voted to support the motion, just how are they going to force a pope to apologize? Really.

It's not about getting an apology. It's about virtue signaling. Also, they probably hope the Liberals, being the government, will vote against it, since it would be highly improper for Canada to pass a resolution calling on the Pope to do anything. That will let them strut around as the most 'sincere' politically correct 'representatives' of natives, you see.

Plus they hate Catholics anyway. Catholics don't believe in the important social justice worker beliefs about things like abortion, gay marriage and transgenderism. Mind you, none of the other major religions do either, but they're mostly non-white so that's okay.

BTW, the woman who negotiated the apology and multi-million dollar settlement for the Anglican Church back in 1993 is a friend of mine.
