Is Canada ready for the coming electric vehicle revolution?

So what do you do with your electric car when it runs out of electrons 100 miles from the nearest plug in? DO you carry spares in a can?
The same thing they decided to do when a gas car runs out of gas 100 miles from a gas station?

More gas stations?

BTW the next gen e cars will probably have 500-750 mile ranges and eventually the scariness of it all will abate.

But if you can't charge when a battery is below 0C then what?

If you can tell me how long it will take to fully charge an electric car on a long trip we can start from there.

That should be easy for you since you drive one.
That information is freely available to anyone who wants it.

Not sure why you have this need to fence over this topic.

Electric - or rather alternative energy cars will displace the piston driven engine. It has to. It is simply superior.

I tell you I am just killin it with greenies from Walter.

no i don't drive one.

I also don't drive a jet aircraft but I do understand that the jet engine is about 100 % efficient, and along with the turbo prop have all but eliminated piston engines from aviation.

Because they are superior.

You don't know.

So I guess I don't need help with the math since you have provided no numbers.
Yes the numbers cannot exist because I did not give them to you.

I am guessing brain surgeon was not one of your career paths.

I don't think horses are bad.

I don;t think we should be riding them to work any more.

Or sending telegraphs

or taking photograph with wet film

or driving ancient technology because it happens to consume copious amounts of energy (being ridiculously inefficient) and that mountain of money are made selling the energy to the consumers.

text messages and email are sent by the millions per hour. where did you get the idea that the telegraph is dead?

combustion engines are a relic.

You completely underestimate the value and significance of fire. past, present, and in the future.

and a car will still be a car even when the engine gets upgraded.

I guess the car hearer is the thing to stop modern science.

We have reached the heater barrier, it will never be conquered.

Pack a can of gas. Can't do that with electrons.

At some point in the future they undoubtably will make 500+ km on a charge and may even be able to charge in a matter of minutes instead of hours. However that is not the case at the moment. I think there is more potential in fuel cells rather than batteries. Along the lines GM is doing for the army.
In the meantime they are expensive and not very practical for anything other than in town. Even in town they are only practical because they get a free ride on the roads.

Yes without internal combustion heating is all but impossible.

lots of economical problems, too. the battery replacement costs alone exceeds the costs of my wife's car. i think i'll stick to used honda civics while guys like you buy the electric cars at premium prices.

i will whole heartily laugh at you when you find out that the batteries that are rated for X years really only last that long in ideal conditions

I believe that an 8 year warranty pretty much eliminates ever having to replace a battery. I would probably just get another car. I doubt I would replace an engine in any 8 year old car today.

its 2018, so anyone that is driving a vehicle older than 2010 would be on your 'I don't give a sh!t' list. Why are you such a poor example of a human being? How can you live with yourself?
