The best qualified will get priority.

Everyone should be able to learn some kind of trade or profession. I didn't mean sending an idiot off to learn astrophysics. It might just mean learning how to cook professionally.

I would be ok with free tuition for citizens of Canada in a Canadian university with the caveat that in order to have tuition be free, one must pass the course or withdraw by the appropriate deadline (they have this now at most universities -- 2 dates. The first 2 or so weeks in where a refund is issued and one about 1/2 way through where no refund but course does not count (no grade assigned)). I would allow for 2 or 3 of these over the students career before it would count as tuition needing to be paid.

it is free.

it is free to the student - it of course is not free to provide.

but we provide it for K-12 so why not post secondary?


I have grandchildren in school and several who have recently graduated and believe me it is NOT free!
