A wide range. Pension and rrsp contributions as well as businesses expenses. With an office in the house, there are additional deductions

Those aren't tax breaks they are deductions that you would still have on a proportionate tax rate.

I got the same tax credit as everyone else but no monthly check. Is that fair in your mind?

You had a poor accountant :)

Semantics are funny.

Hehehe

Making too much money's a bitch. I see you're trying desperately to avoid the question of fairness. I can't say I'm surprised

In a perfect world I would agree with you, but this ain't a perfect world and those with less should get some help. But I don't agree with paycheck babies either, single mothers, low income families trying to get by, with a job, coming up a little short should get the help.

Help those that try to help themselves

The Canada child benefit (CCB) is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. The CCB might include the child disability benefit and any related provincial and territorial programs.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) uses information from your income tax and benefit return to calculate how much your CCB payments will be. To get the CCB, you have to file your return every year, even if you did not have income in the year. If you have a spouse or common-law partner, they also have to file a return every year.

That's not what the flat tax is about though. It's very simple if Angstrom makes 15,000, I make 150,000 and a CEO of a large corporation makes 1,500,000, are you suggesting that a tax bill of 1500, 15000 and 150000 respectively is "fair"

Yes proportionate to their income.
