Trumpites hate free trade. It's pretty self explanatory.

Fair trade (like fair speech) is just a euphemism for "government regulated".

Some things should be government regulated, trade included; but only for a valid reason. For example, banning the importation of a product that we don't even allow our domestic industry to produce such as heroin or certain weapons for example.

To oppose government regulation as a principle without nuance would lead to anarchy.

Again what makes you think they hate free trade? They want fair and balanced trade Trump's been preaching this since day one

There are no valid reason for tariffs. If something is so harmful that it needs tariffs, then don't tariff it: ban it!

If it's not worth banning, then it doesn't deserve tariffs either.

I do not want to rehash this topic, but, so you would ban your product/industry that you are trying to protect from foreign dumping?

What industry would that be? Heroin, crack, LSD should certainly be banned in Canada, and it shouldn't matter whether it's imported or domestically produced, except for medicinal reasons. If for medicinal reasons, then it's not tariffs that they need but medical regulation to ensure only pharmacies and medical clinics can buy and sell them.

If you mean aircraft: if a foreign state can produce them better or cheaper, then let us specialize in what we do best.

If they want to dump a product on us at subsidized cost, who are we to complain that US taxpayers foot part of the bill to subsidize products Canadians buy? Anyone with half a brain would welcome that.

They want fair and balanced trade...

Which as I said, is just a euphemism for regulated trade. Trump calls for tarrifs. Trumpites get excited. Trump says NAFTA is a failure (despites the doubling of manufacturing output since it's inception) and Trumpites get excited. Trudeau fails on free trade and Trumpites get excited.

It's quite clear Trumpites love government regulation...er... I mean "fairness"

Trump's been preaching this since day one

Yup...and I've been calling him a New York City liberal from day one. Trumpites are socialists that simply lack the testicles to stand up and admit the want the gubmint to look after them

...you could use a bit of "Ban" though

Typical Trumpite.

Yeah I'm going to stop there you don't understand what Tariffs are used for, sorry I brought you in to this
