TORONTO - Byron Nelson has spent over three decades growing his manufacturing company in Ontario, only now to regret his choice.

As he tours a group of reporters around his Leland Industries Scarborough plant where they build nuts and bolts for export to the United States and Europe, he explains he’s losing a battle with the province. His hydro bills have soared over the past year and with Ontario’s new cap-and-trade system coming into effect next month, electricity and natural gas costs will likely spike by another 20%.

That’s why Nelson — and other manufacturers in the province — are choosing to expand their businesses in the U.S. instead of at home.

“By 1995 to 2000, China had moved in and we fought China on the world trade and won,” Nelson said Tuesday during a press conference of the newly formed Coalition of Concerned Manufacturers in Ontario.

“Now our bigger problem is we’ve got to fight the province on controlling some of our hydro costs, which have totally skyrocketed. Our electricity bill has already increased 42% over the past few years. I’ve done the math and I’m looking at a cost increase that is going to take it to over $800,000 a year and with cap-and-trade, it’ll be near $1 million.”

Nelson said it’s these costs — which he says hasn’t been clearly mapped out by the government — that make it difficult for local manufacturers to survive, especially when these companies have already spent significant dollars reducing their environmental footprint.

And while companies within the coalition don’t intend to lay off workers, they won’t be building in Ontario anymore. Leland Industries will make its next move in Illinois and other states until the province improves its energy policy.

The coalition demands the government outline a better energy policy — and transparency on hydro and natural gas bills so they know where their money is going, said spokesman Jocelyn Williams Bamford, who is also the vice-president of Automatic Coating Ltd. in Scarborough.

(It’s this HUGE pressure on LIE-beral govt to save jobs by issuing carbon credits free to various LIE-beral friendly companies. The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change counters the cap and trade program won’t have a “significant impact” to electricity rates and some of the money from it will be used to offset electricity price increases by 2020.

The province added its Industrial Conservation Incentive program allows up to 1,000 new businesses to reduce their electricity bills by up to one-third.

(How sad that UNIFOR just does not get any of the crap occurring in Middle East! Israel simply cannot permit- and all sensible people should agree- that a Palestinian sate is simply not possible at this time! A Palestinian state would have the same ability as Iran and Iraq to buy weapons and expand its war on Israel! Creating a Palestinian state BEFORE any lasting peace is in place is a sure fire recipe for MORE WAR!)

It stuck out like a sore thumb among the 20 motions adopted at Unifor’s Canada Council meeting in mid-August - motions dealing with pay equity, worker education and persons with disabilities.

Resolution No. 5, submitted by local 222 (the union representing Oshawa’s GM workers), called for Unifor to support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against the Jewish state until such a time when Israel “implements a permanent ban on further settlement construction in the Occupied Territories” and establishes a “viable Palestinian state.”

No other motions related to alleged abuses of human rights were contained in the “Solidary for a Better World” package adopted by delegates to Unifor’s Aug. 18-20 council in Winnipeg.

The Southern Ontario Newspaper Guild, to which the Toronto Sun’s editorial staff belong, is an affiliate of Unifor, the largest private sector union in Canada. As a committed Zionist, the motion disgusts me.

(Thoughtful people will know that Palestinians demand the “right of return” in exchange for any peace. Meaning they will settle for nothing less than a return to the 1947 status that existed prior to the Israeli war of independence- with Palenstinians having FULL control- NO power sharing! Jews naturally will not permit such a thing as it will put them into second class status in a radical Muslim state! In addition- Muslims believe that Allah has given them title to all the lands and that people of any other religion are TRESPASSERS that Muslims may tolerate if the trespassers bow before them! Israelis did not fight 4 wars just to meekly surrender because Muslims tell them it is the will of Allah!)

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre president and CEO Avi Benlolo said the motion was a surprise to them, especially since they often try to give guidance to unions considering such motions.

He said normally an anti-Israel motion is driven by a very small but vocal cabal of people within these organizations who want to delegitimize Israel - some of them with “anti-Semitic leanings.

“Often the members of these unions are not aware that this is happening and would be hard-pressed to even agree with it or believe in it,” Benlolo said.

He added that the BDS campaign - an effort to encourage people not to buy Israeli products and to convince artists not to perform there - has been a failure, that Israel’s economy is booming.

Nevertheless, he’s concerned that this kind of motion helps encourage anti-Semitism.

“In the sphere of things we are seeing a rise in anti-Semitism,” he said. “We think these kinds of motions foment hate and intolerance against the Jewish people.”

(Thoughtful people will agree that if peace is eventually made- it is up to Muslims to make it. Israel has demonstrated it can and will control radicals in their community IF there is genuine peace on offer. Israeli tourists routinely fly to Egypt to visit Red Sea vacation spots- Israel CAN make honest peace! But the Yasser Arafat version of peace in which Israel is pressed for concessions- and each concession for peace weakens Israel further will be justifiably scorned by Jews as the LIE it is!)

(Egypt and Jordan are seen by hard Muslims as “whores who drop their pants and bend over for Jews and Yankees to screw’ as one Palestinian told me. There can be no peace in the Middle East until such views are altered! Jews should not be forced to make major concessions to people who truly want to destroy them!)

Unifor president Jerry Dias was not available for comment as he had just arrived for NAFTA talks in Mexico City, and a local Unifor spokesman said the union did not wish to comment on the claims.

(Dias has bigger fish to fry in Mexico- such as the idiot notion that auto maker jobs should be moved out of Mexico and brought back to Canada- using our tax money as a bribe if necessary! Too bad Cdns cannot pay for such nonsense! Auto jobs went to Mexico to control costs- put prices up and jobs disappear as Cdns refuse to buy costly Unifor cars- but that`s a modern union Hog for you- the only good money is GOVT money and any industry can be profitable if enough taxes are thrown at it- and enough fake news about the true cost is spread around!)

Meanwhile, on a more positive note, Benlolo said they were encouraged by the approval of a motion at the Toronto District School Board that takes a stand against hate speech.

(Tow steps forward and one back at TDSB! Their Guide to Islam is a shameless promotion of Islam at the expense of anybody who worries about Muslim terror!)

The motion, initiated by Don Valley East trustee Ken Lister, calls for school officials to review the policies for issuing permits to ensure schools and other TDSB facilities do not become venues that spread anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and any other form hatred.

“More and more people are doing this and we’re encouraging this to happen,” Benlolo said. “Everyone sees anti-Semitism is real ... and that’s why it’s so shocking that Unifor would consider such a resolution in this climate.”

Lister has said he put together the motion after watching what unfolded at the Toronto public library this summer. The TPL incurred the wrath of many for granting a permit to hold a memorial for a lawyer associated with the neo-Nazi movement at Etobicoke’s Richview Library.

We are dismayed that Kashetchewan band would spend huge sums touring in California while their drinking water treatment and sewage plants broke down and kids on the reserve had to be airlifted out to gte major medical treatment for skin diseases that can be prevented by using soap and hot water regularly! We find it disturbing that LIE-berals have been in charge of native affairs for two years now and native suicides are SPIKING! How much of the above will be regarded by Human Rights Knagaroo courts as legitimate protest against stupid policy and how much will be condemned as RACIST- if LIE-berals think they can get away with it?)

A new study by the Fraser Institute suggests Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is taking the nation’s finances down the same black hole of never-ending deficits and debt that his late father did when he was prime minister in the 1970s and early 1980s.

“Because the federal government seems to be on the road to revisiting the damaging fiscal policies of the 1970s,” Lakehead University economics Professor Livio Di Matteo warns in, A Federal Fiscal History: Canada, 1867 to 2017, “Canadians should question whether we’re embarking on another transitional period ... that, like Lester Pearson’s and Pierre Trudeau’s time in office, will lead to years of deficits and ultimately another debt crisis.”

(Is it a hard thing to understand that Our idiot Boy Justin HAS absorbed ALL of his fathers vile values and beliefs? The idiot son shares Pierre`s nasty anti western values. Its why Pierre spoke fondly of French Vichy govt collaborating with Nazis, why he spoke of the British war against Hitler as “British Imperialism”, why he spoke in favour of Soviet leader Stalin. Di Matteo says that aside from global wars and economic downturns, “the only other time the federal government kicked off a deficit spending spree and expanded the size and role of the federal government, was in the mid-1960s and 1970s under (Liberal prime ministers) Lester Pearson and then Pierre Trudeau.”

That is, Di Matteo warns, until the election of Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government in 2015.

He notes that Pierre Trudeau never once delivered a balanced budget during his 14 years as prime minister from 1969 to 1984 (interrupted only briefly by the nine-month Joe Clark Progressive Conservative government of 1979 to 1980), leaving behind a massive, for the time, $37.2 billion annual deficit in his final year in office.

Under Pierre Trudeau, Di Matteo says, government program spending skyrocketed from $12.9 billion to $84.3 billion, the net federal debt ballooned from $19.3 billion to $212.6 billion and the debt-to-GDP ratio, a key indicator of overall economic health, soared from 23% to 42.2%.

Di Matteo warns that given Justin Trudeau’s financial track record so far, he appears to be following in his father’s footsteps.

During the 2015 federal election, Trudeau promised Canadians that in order to fulfill his election promises, his government would record projected deficits of $9.9 billion in 2016-17, $9.5 billion in 2017-18, $5.7 billion in 2018-2019, and a surplus of $1 billion in 2019-2020.

He also promised that by 2019-2020, the Liberals would reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio from 30% to 27%.

But following the election, when the Liberals presented their first budget in March, 2016, Trudeau almost tripled his projected 2016-17 deficit to $29.4 billion, followed by $29 billion in 2017-18, $22.8 billion in 2018-19, $17.7 billion in 2019-20 and $14.3 billion in 2020-21.

Since then, the Trudeau Liberals have added $31.7 billion to their projected deficits and abandoned their election promises to eliminate the deficit by 2019 and to reduce the debt-to-GDP ratio to 27% by that year.

Indeed, Di Matteo notes, under Trudeau’s current fiscal plan, program spending is projected to hit $291.4 billion this year, a $40 billion increase from 2014, while the net debt of $727.5 billion this year will increase to $759.5 billion in 2017-18.

(Trudope thinking has always been clear and obvious and based on Soviet revolutionary thinking which dictated what conditions the revolution needed to succeed. Last year, I revealed news that the imam of a mosque that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited was publicly listed on the mosque’s very website as the member of a group that was designated a terrorist organization abroad and whose leader had been banned from entering the United Kingdom and France for his extremist views.

While regular Canadians read the story with great interest, the mainstream media surprisingly wanted nothing to do with it.

The only other coverage that came out of it was a write up or two of the press release the mosque sent out denouncing my reporting. At the same time, local politicians and even law enforcement took aim at me and someone at the Prime Minister’s Office even had the gall to call me up and chew me out for it.

(And LIE-berals wonder why we are worried about their M 103 `motion` condemning Islamophobia and why we are being such `bigots` when LIE-berals sneer at a Cdn reporter just doing his job? AND LIE-berals are also offended by being CALLED LIE-berals-even as they get caught `managing` fake news!)

Nobody ever did explain what was incorrect about my reporting, despite my multiple attempts to receive clarification from the mosque and imam. As such, the story today remains on the record -although the mosque's website now no longer mentions the group in question.

(Typical LIE-beral/Muslim handling of propaganda-if it is hidden from western view then they can claim it must be `untrue`?)

Then along comes M103, Liberal MP Iqra Khalid’s motion that denounces all forms of racism and discrimination and calls for a committee study into the issue but singles out that nebulous buzzword “Islamophobia”.

(And just what is that committee studying? They KNOW we are worried about Jihadist jerks attacking us. They know we are looking at a pack of Muslim newcomers who want to change Canada to suit themselves and are expecting WE will foot the bills for their wants! They KNOW there is a LONG list of Muslims choosing to attack the people they were born amongst. I have said before that Islamophobia is LIE-beral slang for people who are critical of LIE-beral policy!)

I’ve just looked back on the press release the mosque sent out concerning my work and see with great interest that my piece, according to them, “fans the flame of Islamophobia”.

Oh dear. Looks like I’m in a bit of a pickle here. Canada’s parliamentarians are poised to exercise their vote in the coming months to call for a committee to deal with ... me? And for what wrong-doing? For reporting something that in the eyes of me, my editors and my lawyers appeared to be a basic fact?

(And LIE-berals are also attacking ordinary Cdns who happen to think that “basic fact” about the Jihadists creeping amongst us is of concern to them!)

This in a nutshell illustrates the problematic direction this motion could be heading us in and why so many thousands of Canadians have taken to speaking up on it via emails to their MPs and adding their names to petitions.

Liberal MP Arif Virani said in the House of Commons recently that “understanding what we mean by Islamophobia is not difficult. When we speak about Islamophobia, we are not talking about legitimate questions about a religion or a respectful criticism of religious practices. When we speak about Islamophobia, we are talking about taking a stand against prejudice, against abuse, against discrimination targeted toward individuals for no reason other than the fact that they practise Islam.”

Decent people should agree about the abuse and targeting part. The violent threats Khalid has received are wrong and appropriate legal action should be taken. Full stop.

But it’s when we start talking about what is and isn’t a “legitimate” or “respectful” question that you run into trouble. Who among us should be trusted to define these parameters? I was denounced for “Islamophobia” for simply doing my job. Clearly my line of inquiry was illegitimate and disrespectful in the eyes of some, including the PMO.

(There is also the very sensitive Muslim ego to consider when making any comment about Islam. For instance, Muslims consider any art display of human image to be blasphemous. So when a Danish cartoonist produced an image of a Muslim with a bomb in his turban, we all laughed while Muslims burned at the insult to Islam generally and to Allah specifically. It is this reasoning that persuaded Muslims to murder the Danish cartoonist and his editor! Muslims wish to carefully edit anything we may want to say about Islam-and their editing will INCLUDE removal of any comment alleging Muslim bigotry or decrying Muslims for seeking violent solutions to all their alleged troubles, slights and injuries.)

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from the many hundreds of emails, phone calls and social media messages I’ve received over the past few weeks, it’s that Canadians want more light shone on radical Islam, not less.

The discussion around M103 has served as something of a catalyst. It's opened a Pandora’s box of broader questions and concerns about Islam in Canada that can’t be neatly put back together.

If the mainstream refuses to be a responsible conduit for the discussion, it’ll keep being had on social media or in the fringes of alternative news forums where there are few moderating voices to steer it on the right path. In the mean time, people’s trust in traditional voices will only erode further.

(Its worth pointing out that public faith in LIE-berals is also being seriously eroded as LIE-berals seek ever more devious ways to move ahead with their grossly self serving policies-designed ONLY to ensure they buy enough votes to cling to power! If LIE-berals manage to win another election after having displayed this sort of duplicity and reverse bigotry they will be emboldened and will brazenly move ahead with policies that many Cdns think are short sighted, selfish and destructive!)
