Guess it depends on what value you put on a human life. I'm actually wondering how you can say that when it's obvious for all to see that $490 isn't changing the behaviour! :)

The 490$ is not the problem.

Its the ability to police the law. And its poor success rates at policing it

At the Hospital, there were 2 women on the Psyche Floor who thought they were Jesus...

A patient I had befriended asked me, "If one of those 2 women really IS Jesus, which one would you choose to go to for council?'

I thought about it for a few seconds, then replied...

"The one with the biggest boobs!" lol!

(I should write a book about my crazy adventures of my skewed mind)

Arround where I live no one even hardly bothers to even slowdown at some of the stop signs.

People will follow laws they feel will be enforced

Once in a blue moon I've failed to stop at a stop sign, but I'll stop twice at the next one!

The phone company's have the technology to have the phone stop making calls when travelling fast that 15 km per hour..

The issue is, what about the passengers..

My feeling is, if it's that important.. pull over to make the call.. seat belts are legislated for everyone in the car.. the cell phone being auto turned off should be as well.

I think you should be allowed to use your phone while driving, but if you get in an accident while doing so, you lose your license for life, and the vehicle you were driving (no matter who it is owned by) gets confiscated.

If you're in a fatal accident, then you should go to jail for 15 years on top of the above.

That would settle it down pretty quickly.

Northern Ontario,
One of the last few updates activated that technology, but it can be deactivated for a passenger.

The other day, I started the car with the remote start, to warm it up, then I wanted to add something to the grocery list on the phone but since Bluetooth was connected the car even from inside the house I had to temporarily disable it to add a few items and re-enable it before I started driving.

If they can seize your car for picking up a hooker, they should be allowed to seize your car when you're driving impaired or distracted. Put your phone down and consentrate on the road in front of you..

Police also seized 25 vehicles from alleged johns valued at more than $360,000, including luxury vehicles.

General Cell Phone Statistics. The National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year. Nearly 330,000 injuries occur each year from accidents caused by texting while driving. 1 out of every 4 car accidents in the United States is caused by texting and driving.

You could have jotted the grocery items down on a piece of paper and stuck it in your shirt pocket.

People will follow laws they feel are useful.

The vast majority of people who use cell phones while driving do not get into accidents, therefore, they question the value of following the law.

You could have jotted the grocery items down on a piece of paper and stuck it in your shirt pocket.

Or not connect your phone to the Bluetooth.

Is it up to people to decide what laws they are going to obey? Too much shit these days of people thinking laws are for other folks!

Have you ever gone faster than the speed limit?

Yeah and got nailed for it too...............................but not in this century! :) :) (Does what I do have anything to do with whether people should obey the law?) Get relevant! :)

Since 95% of the world population is as smart as a two by four and all the wealth is owed by 3 % in our countries. Im willing to live with the consequences of letting stupid people live long enough to drive while texting. There are to many stupid humans anyways. And there are far more chances of them taking out other stupid people then there is of them taking out a intelligent one.

So lets just let nature do what its supposed too just this once. I swear its for the greater good of the planet.

You gotta get with the time Ol' Man.....That bag phone or even flip phone won't hack it anymore....lol

A lot of the time I avoid doing what I see everyone else doing! :) :)

How would you feel if your loved one was killed because someone was "allowed" to use their phone while driving? That makes absolutely no sense. If the fine was $4000 or so the cops could afford to police the situation and put a stop to the bull shit!
