Hmmm... someone wasn't thinking when he put that sign up. Maybe he was eating a McDonald's Big Mac as he was coming up with the idea?

How do you rape a Big Mac by biting into it?

As a lawyer, you must understand that the sign never specified what was to be swallowed. It could have been referring to deep-fried cod for all we know.

Get your head out of the gutter!

Unlikely. Cod is good. A rotten Ronnie burger OTH.....

Probably more a thing of self-selection. There's a certain kind of people that choose to live in a hot, humid hellhole that periodically gets hammered flat by hurricanes.

Ah..........the 'Never thought it would happen to me crowd'.....heard from a few of them over the years as they are interviewed on TV next to the pile of lumber that used to be their house. They appear to inhabit several areas of the US that are prone to natural disasters........Tornado Alley comes to mind.

Edit to add: I learned quite a bit about Florida when I started reading Carl Hiaasen 's books.

one guy put it quite nicely, in the comment section below the article.

"I am so tired of everything these days being run past some juvenile bathroom humor filter that panders to the lowest common denominator. Our society is regressing and will not survive all this immaturity. Time for the grown-ups to stop pandering to the big babies who can see some dirty meaning in everything. They should leave the sign as it is and tell anyone who doesn't like it to grow up and get their head out of the gutter. That is the reasonable solution rather than reaffirming their juvenile nonsense."

Good points, gerry.

Well, Gerry, you can put up your own sign. If the church was happy with the message, they would have kept it as is.

Advertisers generally want to send out a particular message, not be misinterpreted. But you go ahead and do what you like.

Apparently the Church has changed the message. It now reads...

"Forgiveness is giving your husband the Rusty Trombone".

But I'm not sure if this is any better, to be honest. ;)
