A Vancouver man's S.I.N. has evaporated into cyber space since his mother died a week ago. Our high paid bureaucraps extinguished his instead of his Mother's and he's been told it will be a month until it will be reinstated. Until such time he can't cash any Gov't. cheques. How long would the illustrious Messrs Trudeau and Horgan have to wait to cash their cheques, should such a boon doggle happen to them? Why do we continue to vote for these Assholes?

Why does he need a SIN to cash a cheque?

That's what I was wondering. I suppose there may be some checks that require a SIN for ID purposes, but no clear example comes to my mind off-hand. I suppose if his SIN is his main piece of ID at his bank where he cashes his check maybe? But then he'd presumably have other ID, no? I don't know. Special circumstances I guess.

Trudeau personally handles all administration for the Feds. They call him "Data Entry" Trudeau.

For identification maybe! It was just on the news.

At his own bank he wouldn't but if he's out of town he probably would.

What's the chance that he would take a government cheque out of town to cash it?

This sounds like a story from a disgruntled Trudeau hater.

I always wonder about these stories in as much as how do they make the news? I guess it's the 'victim' who calls up to complain to them.

Somebody should tell him to consider direct deposit as an option......

There's very little chance he'd TAKE a gov't. cheque out of town to cash it but he might decide to cash a cheque already had when out of town. Anyway the exercise isn't meant to make things easier for Trudeau but for the average worker who lives from pay day to pay day and needs the cash shortly after he receives the cheque.

Not being issued a cheque is not the same as 'not being able to cash a cheque', however.

Who really cares what the reason is, whoever assumes a person won't need his S.I.N. is being presumptuous indeed.

I think if a person may need the S.I.N. in extreme circumstances it is incumbent upon the person losing it to replace it A.S.A.P. If it's a gov't. agency that loses it, it can be recaptured in a matter of seconds and be expedited by Courier to be received no later than the next day. That's what should have been done. If a guy loses it through his own stupidity, that's a different matter entirely.

I haven't had a physical card for years, it fell apart. Nowadays, you print them anyway. You don't need a courier, you need a printer.

We're not talking about the physical card, in case you're having trouble keeping up.

Yeah, the number's been discontinued. If he's not careful he could get charged with identity theft.

Time to run the cards up and report them missing later. (same day the new ones show up)

Suddenly everyone on a pensions gets listed as dead and it takes 6 months to fix it. How many would be actually be dead by then?? Most??

Hurry up bitch, you think I have all night?? Oh wait, I do have all night and then some.
