One of the nmany problems with democracy is that we must defend the right of wackos like the anti abortionists to have their say. However they must not be permitted to infringe on the rights of any female to have an abortion if she chooses to.

I know the word fag as it relates to cigarettes. But I see it as a deflection on a serious question.
I'm not for banning protest. I am against harassment. Nobody should be able to harass grieving family members at a funeral. No one should be able to harass someone entering a medical facility.
No one should harass. Whether they should be able to is another matter. It becomes a question of preemption vs. punishment after the fact.
Banning people from protesting near the clinic seems to presume that they will harass, and that makes it a case of preemption. That said, many pro-lifers caused this to happen. Once it becomes common enough, then we can make a case for preemption.
When I used to live in Hamilton, Ontario I would take my kids to school and sometimes drive passed the pro-lifers with their pictures of aborted fetus's. These were giant glossy pictures on poster board. Now, I don't think they should be prevented from protesting, but I think what I found particularly sad was that they had little kids out there holding signs. Children who have yet to form opinion are being indoctrinated into this. I see it in much the same way children are used in extremist groups. I can't and wouldn't intervene, it's their kids, but not unlike the Khadr's, I think people like that are special kind of crazy.
How so. I can understand how a person would react intensely to the idea that human life begins at conception but is not legally recognized as such.

"A small group who oppose health care for women and trans people have put unacceptable pressure on Planned Parenthood Ottawa's funders ... harassing them and threatening to expose them in the media," she says.
This is interesting, not the least of the reasons is "Why now?" Planned Parenthood supports abortion, yes, but this is not newly divisive. Pro-life versus pro-choice folks have been going at it for almost 30 years since the Supreme Court decided R v. Morgentaler, leaving Canada without any abortion law at all.
On July 28, a group calling themselves the Center for Medical Progress began releasing an investigative sting operation into the practices of Planned Parenthood south of the border. Two actors posing as buyers of organs for research purposes got undercover video allegedly showing that Planned Parenthood in the USA engages in the sale of fetal hearts, livers, kidneys and heads ("calvarium") for profit.
The video evidence, all of which is available in full online, allegedly shows Planned Parenthood executives in different states discussing fetal organs with infinitely less concern than your auto mechanic discusses car parts. Planned Parenthood did a report assessing the videos, and their own analysis said first that "A thorough review of these videos in consultation with qualified experts found that they do not present a complete or accurate record of the events they purport to depict," but also that they "did not reveal widespread evidence of substantive video manipulation."
Quotes include one Planned Parenthood director, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, saying, "We've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver... so I'm not gonna crush that part, I'm gonna basically crush below, I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact."
This while drinking a glass of wine and munching on a salad.
Additional videos show Planned Parenthood lab techs showing off bloody body parts -- little legs, hands, arms, to the actors posing as buyers, declaring when it was "another boy" or a twin. The discussion of financial benefits is frequent and forthcoming, with one Planned Parenthood exec saying "she wants a Lamborghini."
Federal law in the USA prohibits the sale of organs for profit, making this not merely morally problematic, but legally as well. According to their web-site their goals are to act both nationally and internationally to increase education and access to “to quality sexual and reproductive health information and services.” There is a heavy focus on the international arena where they desire to push their agenda through channels like the United Nations and other international bodies.
Action Canada itself does not provide surgical or medical abortions but its many Associate Organizations do. These local and provincial organizations also make themselves the “go to” for education on matters of sexuality, and provide a host of contraceptive services, medical services such as tubal ligations, STD testing and mammograms.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s official web-site still refers to the Canadian branch of Planned Parenthood as the CFSH. The following answer to the question “Is there Planned Parenthood in Canada?” reads, “Check out the Canadian Federation for Sexual Health (CFSH). CFSH represents a large network of sexual and reproductive health centers in Canada, and can direct you to a health center close to you.” Links point to the Action Canada site.
