What is wrong with a two tier health system?

Is it Muslims, or Muslims from a certain geographic and socioeconomic class?

Some of our good doctors are muslims; should we allow them here?

I think geographic. And perhaps socioeconomic as well. Certainly the problems in Germany and elsewhere are caused by newly arrived Muslims from the middle east and northern africa.
HAving said that I have worked with many Muslims from different parts of the world and all were fine people. Swilled beer with several. They were all tradesmen and engineers.

"The private practitioner shouldn't cost out the public system for anything." Perhaps the validity of that statement should be looked into a little more thoroughly. The source of money for the public system comes out of the pockets of virtually all of us.

And that virtually all drs are private businesses that do most of their work for the state. But for some reason the state does not deem in necessary to pay for all visits to the doctor, even when demanded by other government agencies.

Why should it be the same level of coveragewhen people pay for their own coverage along with taxes to subsidize others? People that pay their own insurance should go to the front of the line, after all private insurance owners are paying extra for their care, and shouldn't have to wait to get MRIs and surgeries done. Besides, people that want the status quo won't be waiting as long as they are today for specialists and surgeries.
Are there many snowbirds opting out of their Canadian healthcare?

Really? And exactly how are people who can barely afford food or rent afford to pay for health care? Why don't you just say what you really mean - that you don't give a damn about anyone except yourself?

So you don't really care about people that work and pay taxes but only about freeloaders that contribute nothing to society getting equal access to taxpayer funded programs. Not the key word here is taxpayer.

Maybe before bashing "welfare Moms", you may want to look to see if there is something missing in that equation! :) :)

Like fathers that should be contributing? That depends on whether they know who the father is. I happen to know two women that went and got pregnant just so they wouldn't get their welfare cut off.

What? The father? Welfare moms have multiple kids with multiple baby daddies.

OK, fathers! :) But most don't!

I think where health care is concerned, every member on the planet should be able to expect equal treatment (unlike most programs) otherwise we're venturing on to a slippery slope.

Which slope is that?

I wrote Canada wasn't at Europe's level when it comes to Muslim immigration. What do you think I meant when I wrote Canada HASN'T reached that level yet?

Muslims don't at all. It's haram for a WOMAN to marry outside the faith. While other religions maibe advocate for both men and women not to marry outside the religion, only Islam says it's fine for men to do it but not for women.

Muslims make up 4.5% of the population, and that is the 2011 census number. It's closer to 6%, probably over that number, today

It's closer to 6%, probably over that number, today.

Really where did you get that 6% number? An increase of over 30% on just six years is quite impressive.

And you are missing the point. I don't care what Islam says about marriage. In Canada Muslims are free to marry whomever they want. And many do. Here is a view by a Canadian Muslim woman.

The number of migrants and refugees plus the amount of heavy breeding that Muslims are known for.

In Canada, by the year 2030, Muslims will triple their numbers in Canada. It isn't far fetched at all.

The thing is women don't marry infidels and the Muslim council of Canada has no pull with them because the Muslim council of Canada are the true moderates of Islam that are willing to assimilate. And while this is true, Imams forbid this type of marriage and won't perform the ceremony of marriage.

Then there's this. Imams won't perform the marriage.

Fun with math. Percentages are a funny thing. If there was 1 last year and two this year it becomes 100% increase. Whereas if there are already 1 million and gain one the % doesn't register.

Yep. But it gives the picture of the most improvement.

Yes, but those surveys always forget the fastest growing non-religious population. Atheists and agnostics are increasing in number faster than any other group. I expect once Muslims have been here long enough their religious devotion will waver; especially once they discover that in Canada you are not forced to be religious.

Muslims actually become more religious when they move to the West. In our homelands, where everyone is Muslim, our religion is sort of taken for granted. It is only when we find ourselves as a minority swamped by a majority that have a completely different way of life that we become more conscious of our “Muslim-ness” and this inevitably leads to greater religious observance. Religious observance can never be forced, even in religious states like Saudi Arabia and Iran. Religious observance and religiosity is always purely a voluntary phenomenon.

I'm probably the wrong person to be discussing this at all as I am pretty non religious (outside of believing in the Golden Rule) I get pissed off when I find others (under the guise of religion) expounding on what they think I should be doing. The main problem I've found with religious people is they do too much meddling in other people's affairs (second only to their hypocrisy) :) :) :)

Bullcrap!!! Apostasy and blasphemy are a death sentence and are outlawed in Saudi Arabia, women are forced to cover up and criticism of Islam is forbidden, they even have the religious police to enforce these laws as well to enforce the practicing of Islam. These is not religious freedom.

You are full of crap.

You do realize that nothing you just said contradicts what Lord Zul said in the post you quoted, right?
