Yes, in a country where capitalism and lobbying is already rampant and unfairly influencing policy at a disadvantage to the bulk of voters, it's high time government needs to be run like a business.

In other news, y'all be completely fukked.

Also, everyone already knows that 'run government like a business' is just code for 'dictator'.

The idea has a lot of merit. Finding an ethical and capable leader to do this might be a challenge. Emphasis on ETHICAL, , COMPETENT, ( add ARTICULATE , educated, and experienced to the mix. ) There would have to be a list of qualifications that must be met before a person could even run for leadership. (or CEO) Including a full medical and psychological exam)and the person does not have to be RICH.......Diplomatic experience/ training mandatory..Should be at least bilingual.


as things stand now (and we are seeing the sad results of it) there are NO qualifications / pre requisites for the job of POTUS being well off seems to be the only "requirement". BTW: is there a formal job description for the job?? Or are the rich who get in just expected to wing it??

I've seen attempts to run governments like a business. They usually end up as complete failures and a successor government has to fix the damage they cause.

Sure sure, this reminds me of the time Angstrom claimed he had a formula to prove capitalism would save the world or some shit. 60 pages of spastic whining later and all he managed to do was accidentally agree to socialism.

That's the trouble with the "business" mentality. If you believe in it, then in order to have any self worth you need to also believe your some kind of model individualist. You can claim you know more about "business" but refuse to say anything about it, only coming up with lame excuses not to.
