This is so depressing.

Canada adds 55,000 jobs in May, more than triple expectations

Canada's economy added a net 55,000 jobs in May, blowing past expectations with a surge in full-time work.

Statistics Canada reported Friday the economy added 77,000 full-time jobs, but that was offset by a loss of just over 22,000 part-time positions.

Almost all the new jobs came in the private sector, while self-employment and the public sector were little changed.

Economists had been expecting the economy to add about 15,000 jobs during the month.

May's strong figure means Canada's economy has added 317,000 jobs in the past year — the strongest 12-month total since February 2013, TD Bank economist Brian DePratto said.

"This is a report with a lot to like in it," he said in a note.

May is the month when all the seasonal workers get hire. It should be closer to 100,000 people if the economy wasn't already tanked.

... I wonder if there's a correlation between those 55,000 jobs and the seasonal hires?

It's quite a mystery to be sure. I suppose that we'll never know

(PS - for the dim-witted, pretend I wrote this in purple)

For the dim witted that don't know how to do purple text if you compared the seasonal hires from past years it it quite evident this is one of the lowest numbers even when using depressed years.

Try not to be a f*cktar5d in every post you make. No purple text needed. lol

When did hiring people to work when there is no frost in the ground become national news. Seems like they are scratching the bottom of the good news barrel and even having to fudge the reason for the jobs. If you think they will publish the numbers when the same people get laid off in November you are willfully deceiving nobody but yourself.

Your stats are innaccurate.

You are a 4 foot humunculus invalid.

So how can you address the facts when you can't even dress yourself

It's good news. I'm just pointing to the fact that it's not sustainable though. Let's focus less on growth and more on stability.

Stability?

You would need a communist government that actually knows what it's doing if you want stability.
