Watch out Sunderland... North Korean flag mysteriously starts flying over quiet suburb in Middlesbrough… so where does Kim Jong-un have his beady eye on next?

SHOCKED neighbours have been speculating about whether Kim Jong-un has opened a base within a suburban house in the north east of England.

Hoisted on a 20 foot pole in the garden of a house in Ingleby Barwick, Teesside, is the red, white and blue North Korean flag stamped with its distinctive communist red star.

The flag of North Korea flies high with pride …in Teesside

It comes as the Stalinist nation today fired another ballistic missile as Jong-un’s taste for war intensifies.

Just a week ago the rogue state’s last bullish launch sparked fears of a new more powerful type of nuclear-capable rocket able to strike the US mainland.

Amid this background of rising international tensions a flag has suddenly appeared in the otherwise very normal Sober Hall Avenue, reports The Gazette.

A little bit of North Korea in England’s north east

The North Korean embassy in Ealing, west London, is Kim Jong-un’s main UK base

But could the secretive state have a penchant for locating their facilities in England’s suburbia?

Its embassy is in a nondescript detached 1930s home in leafy west London.

And like the Teesside property has a flag pole located to the left of the building.

As intrigue grew, one neighbour in Teesside said: “I have absolutely no idea why it is there.

“The flag’s been up for a couple of weeks ever since someone took over the property but I’ve not seen anyone really there.

“I think it is quite funny, and I laugh because I can now use it to show me how to get home.”

People living the area are baffled about what is going on

Social media users have been quick to offer theories.

One speculated it was a “secret launch base” for Jong-un’s nuclear weapons programme.

North Korea’s London embassy was contacted for answers.

But an official told The Gazette: “We don’t have any people living in Middlesbrough.

He added: “Why would it be strange anyway for our flag to be up?”

It's likely a political statement being made by somebody who doesn't buy into the hate propaganda against North Korea. It could become contagious and so it's also likely that something will be invented to make it treasonous to express an idea that isn't in sync with US propagandizing of Kim/China/Russia.

Do people emigrate to North Korea?

I always ask this to people who love Cuba....the bastion of leftism....nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to be enslaved there.

Thanks! This board seems to be nothing much more than spam, precocious teenagers throwing insults at each other, and nonsense. I thought I would give it a shot at encouraging a rational discussion on political views.

So I got right to the point in order to determine if anybody had a sensible rebuttal to my reply. Yours indicates that my reply was noteworthy at least. But nothing more? I get the idea that you totally agree/disagree?

I go by the Japanese narrative.

I'm not sure you understand what "precocious" means. It means "mature or ahead for one's age." Most of the folk here are so far over the hill they can't even see the hill anymore.

You got a point. Not the whole story.

Except most here are over the age of 68.

People likely don't emigrate to North Korea. What's the point in asking that question?

However, if the US would stop it's interference in North Korea then the entire country would have at least a chance of reuniting and then emigration would be much more likely. And even possible.

You could maybe say the same about China because China uses North Korea as it's proxy state in the same way the US uses Israel. And of course, China fully understands the US incentive to use South Korea as a forward base from which to threaten China in it's region of strategicinfluence.

The current problems are totally the doing of the US. North Korea is responding to the threat of US war against their country and doing it in a very real and rational way. You can bet the bank that China is totally in control of the situation and is instructing North Korea on it's every move. The US likely understands that but is unable to voice it publicly and so the game is being played.

Your reference to Cuba is objectionable from a Canadian POV. Cuba is a huge success as compared to other banana republics such as Haiti or other corrupt capitalist countries. Univeral health care and free schooling puts an entirealy different light on poverty. Much to the envy of basket cases such as Haiti or the D.R., or even Mexico!

personal insult. So soon too! It doesn't give me much confidence in anything worthwhile coming out of this board.
Kinda like Dumpster diving. Gotta go through a lot of smelly stuff (in this case, incorrect facts and logical fallacies) to get to anything worth it.

Oh well, at least we can be confident that the US isn't going to start another war with North Korea. That's a standoff that is going to go on indefinitely. China and Russia both border North Korea and the are both nuclear powers that have the only deterrent the US is capable of understanding. The US doesn't mess with nuclear powers, or small countries that come under the wings of pretection offered by Russia and China.

For this reason, Syria is a standoff that's only costing the lives of innocents due to US meddling. And Iran is immune from US led war!

Have a nice time in your sandbox kids!
