I'm sure China wouldn't mind getting its mitts on the NK NE coast.
China doesn't want a part of North Korea any more than the US wants a part of Israel. You don't understand the significance of North Korea to China. It's strategically theirs just as South Korea is the US's.

The standoff is at the expense of the Korean people who want to unify their country. Neither nuclear power is going to allow it to happen at the expense of the other. And it 'does' include Russia and their interests too.

Russia and China are back and the window of opportunity for US aggression throughout the world has been slammed shut. The US's PNAC agenda has been stopped because it wasn't accomplished quickly enough.

In fact, the MAD deterrent is going to continue to save the world from the US. (mutually assured destruction)

Relations between China and NK are piss poor at best. China would be investing in NK at the same level as they are in Vietnam if they saw eye to eye.

It's only the US projected image that leads you people to believe that relations between China and North Korea are bad. How could you believe the truth? China is totally invested in the security of North Korea. It's strategically important to them to prevent US advances into North Korea. As is the US stance on South Korea where the US fully intends to install a missile OFFENSE system to threaten China.

Relations between South Korea and the US aren't piss poor at best. That would be overstating the current situation. But those relations are faltering as South Korea made it clear to the US that South Korea will be making any decisions about US aggression against North Korea. Notwithstanding China's clear demands that it won't tolerate US war against North Korea. You may not like to hear the truth but you have to accept the status quo as it exists.

US war, or even US bombing of North Korea is completely off the table and is an accepted fact of it not going to happen.

I would suggest that the Iran situation is the same!

As to the North Korea flagwaving, it's starting slowly because the demonization project against North Korea has been fully pounded into the heads of the Western peoples. But it's going to come.

We might as well surrender now, for the sake of the children. Those NK subs can still go anyplace they please apparently.

N Korean torpedo' sank navy ship
(in part)
Inside North Korea
A North Korean submarine's torpedo sank a South Korean navy ship on 26 March causing the deaths of 46 sailors, an international report has found.
Investigators said they had discovered part of the torpedo on the sea floor and it carried lettering that matched a North Korean design.
Pyongyang rejected the claim as a "fabrication" and threatened war if sanctions were imposed, say reports.
China has urged both countries to show restraint

China doesn't want a lunatic with nukes any less than the US, S Korean, Japan or Russia as a neighbour and have sanctions on N.Korea too.

China is limiting flights to North Korea, as a further sign — with its reduction in oil supplies and in coal purchases — of its loss of patience with dictator Kim Jong-un.

The North Korean national airline only began operating the route twice a week in March.

The website NK News quoted a North Korea travel expert as saying: “It’s a Chinese government decision. This would relate to the sanctions the Chinese are enforcing on Air Koryo.”

Last October, China said it would restrict air charter flights between the countries.

On Friday, the technicians *responsible for the successful launch on May 14 of the new Hwasong-12 missile were feted in a parade through Pyongyang.

The Rodong Sinmun newspaper said: “Every street in the capital city fluttered with a celebratory atmosphere to greet the warriors of national defence and of science,” with hundreds of thousands of people waving flags and strewing flowers.

It said they had “bravely rushed to complete their new goal” of showing the world how North Korea is on the verge of checkmating the US imperialists, by developing “another perfect weapon system”.

China doesn't think of Kim jong-un as a lunatic but it's a game that's working for China. It's the same game the US plays with Israel. In fact neither N.K. or Israel need nuclear weapons because they're protected by their own powerful nuclear armed nation. And both the US and China are telling each other, hands off our proxy states.

North Korea is undeterred by any sanctions, real or imagined by Americans. If China didn't approve of Kim's actions they would put an end to it. Don't buy into cheap propaganda that leads people into being snookered on the issue.

Perhaps? In the long term scheme of things, what is important to China is that they protect N.Korea's interests and make it appear that they are punishing N.Korea. China is making sure that the US doesn't use military force against N.Korea. And China is also ensuring that N.Korea doesn't make waves against the south that could give the US the justification it needs for military action. You can take that to the bank, even though I can't prove a negative. War involving the US is just not going to happen. Sorry!

Of course they celebrate and they do it with absolute confidence. China especially, knows that North Korea has no intention of threatening the US and would become immmdiate rubble if it tried. It's the US threatening N.Korea and that's just too obvious for anyone to argue against.

It's likely a political statement being made by somebody who doesn't buy into the hate propaganda against North Korea. It could become contagious and so it's also likely that something will be invented to make it treasonous to express an idea that isn't in sync with US propagandizing of Kim/China/Russia.
