Catch of the Year? Could be as the Jay's Superman takes to the air once again.

I have been following the Jays IRBS - just not commenting on the games. I did get to see them in the come from behind win in their last game with the Indians - now that was pretty.

I can't believe that they are doing that while a big portion of their line-up is on the DL - which was increased today with the addition of Liriano who has soft-tissue issues with his shoulder. It's a wonder Gibby hasn't pulled all his hair out by now.

Watching the first game of the Seattle series today. GO JAYS, GO.

You were at that game too? I was in 526. Quite the comeback. I commented to my son in the 3rd when the Cleveland player tried to stretch his 0 out double into a triple and got called out that they would regret that. It essentially killed any further scores in the inning. And given the Jays bullpen last night it did cost them. If they didn't score in the 9th I wasn't sure who would pitch beyond the 11th.

Have you heard when anybody is coming back of DL? None of the injuries sounded like they would take more than a week or 2 but its been over a month now.

No, I caught the game on TV, IRBS. Agree with your comments about the bullpen which continues to surprise me at times.

It could be Russel who comes back first though Sanchez is back and will pitch against the Mariners - other than that I haven't heard who else is close will listen more closely to Buck when he is mentioning the Jay's DL.

We are in the 6th inning and the Jays have a 6 - 2 lead on the Mariners thanks to some iffy pitching by the Jay's lead pitcher and some good at bats by our guys. Smokie is still swinging a hot bat - he's been on base every at bat so far and had scored all the runs until Pearce got a homer in the 5th for two of his own. They are looking pretty darn good out there tonight.

Dude, there's nothing unusual about a Bluejay flying. It's kinda what they do.

(That's one damn ugly bluejay, by the way.)

Dude..............he's a hunk in my eyes and a helluva a good ball player to boot.

Forgot to mention that Marco had 8 strike outs tonight.

Smokie hit his his 6th homer of the year and his 4th RBI of the game. Jays ahead 7 - 3 going into the 8th.

Yes, yes Tec..........whatever.

Estrada picks up the win as the Jays take the first of the 4-game series 7 to 2.

Biagini's apitchin' and the guys are ahittin' and the score in the 3rd is 1 zip for our guys.

Joey Bats comes through with a 2-run homer in the 3rd and we're up 3 zip.

Devon Travis with a sac-fly drives home Goins and the Jays are up 4 zip going into the 7th. Biagini is up for the win having gone 5 innings - since then Gibbys been playing the left hand/right hand batter game with his bullpen. The guys are definitely hitting and have reached base in every inning. Superman has been on base every time up. Superman rocks.

First shaky bit in the ball-game when Danny Barnes gave up two hits with no one out. He dug himself out getting the next two batters then Brian Tepera came in to clean up and the Jays are going to the 8th still up 4 zip.

Zeke hits a stand-up double then steals third - what a guy.

They sure did, Ludlow with some of our best players on the DL too.......mind you the Mariners are in a similar pickle with their bullpen...........just to be fair. Our bullpen was solid not allowing a single run. The guys are getting on base but need to bring more home......they stranded more than a few tonight. Still, they can chalk up another win and that's just great.

Superman aka Kevin Pillar strikes first for the Blue Jays in the 3rd off a nice hit by Zeke Carrera. Stroman is holding the Mariners at bay so far - allowed a few on base but has struck out 7 so far.

Cubs and D Backs seem to be in decent shape so far. good luck to your club.

Good luck to the Cubbies too, Ludlow................they are now my second favorite team in baseball and should the Jays not fulfill my dream of reaching the play-offs and the Cubbies do, well they will be who I am cheering for all the way.

Marcus is up to 8 strike-outs now.

Mariners get their first run of the series since the opening game and the score is tied one apiece going to the bottom of the 5th.

Seattle takes the lead by 1 in the top of the 6th and Marcus' day on the mound could be over.......we'll see.

Welcome back Kendes Morales! Beautiful homer in the 6th to tie the ball game.

Grilli on the mound to start the 7th...............Go Jason!

Jason gives up two hits and is off the mound in favor of Loop.......better get er done, Aaron

Aaron gets a man out and Gibby thanks him and calls up Dominique Leone - a former Mariner - who takes out the batter in three throws and we are still tied at 2. Jays are once again leaving too many men on base - gotta get those guys home Jays.

Joey comes through again with a 3-run homer in the 7th to put the Jays ahead 5 - 2...........Rock on Joey Bats - nice to see you hitting again.

My least favourite team is always the team that last won the series unless that is the jays.

3 run hr by joey bats.

Ah............IRBS...............the Cubbies win last year was one for the ages.

Smith on the mound for the Jays top of the 8th - gets first man out on a strike-out - 11 strike-outs for the Jays in this game - so far.

Beautiful throw by Luke Maile to Goins at second gets the runner out!

A win today would get the Blue Jays under 500.................Go Jays!

Smith loses Dyson - a tricky batter all game long with 2 away but gets the last batter on high fly ball right to the glove of Zeke - no harm no foul, Joe.

Goins reaches base, Barney strikes out, Devon in as a pinch-hitter for Chris Coghlan gets to first and Goins reaches second on an error then he beats the tag into 3rd with 2 away.

Maile gets hit by an inside fast ball to load the bases with one away as Superman comes to the plate.

Kevin scores Goins then Devon makes it home on the first pitch and a bad throw from the Mariner's second base man and the Jays go ahead 7 - 2.

Not many times people steal hoime.

Four stolen bases for the Jays today - not too darn bad for our guys, IRBS.........and we are off to the 9th

Campos on the mound gives up a two-base hit by Segura - gets behind 2 zip to Gamel - make that 3 zip, and walks him. Pete Walker checking on status of Osuna. Cruz up to bat with 2 hits this afternoon and Gibby's seen enough as Roberto will come to the mound to finish off the Mariners.........hopefully.

Cruz gets a hit but Smokie is on the ball and gets the runner then throws to first for another fine double-play - the Jays are getting a few of those lately. Two away for Osuna with a man on base at 3rd who gets the last batter to fly-out and the Jays will win this series and will be going for the sweep tomorrow.

What do you think IRBS? I'd say the Jays are hot and getting more so and still have a few of their best on the DL. Buck was saying that there's a good chance that Tulo will be back for the Atlanta series.

Unless runner is safe at first, its not a hit. :)

If they keep hot, they will get back into it. I just hope they didn't dig too much of a hole. I think that the pitching staff is more important. They are down 3 / 5 right now although it looks like Sanchez comes back tomorrow. Hopefully he can do more than 1 inning. I do know if they don't start getting innings from the starters the bullplen won't have any gas left in them for September.

I guess I'm just surprised that, in spite of all the injuries, the guys are manufacturing wins and our bullpen is holding it's own. I know the real tests will come when we face a team that isn't also having DL problems. Although, from the numbers that Buck has been mentioning during the broadcasts, there are a few teams that share the problem - some with many more than ours.

Kevin Pillar sure is having himself a great time out there.........though so are Zeke and Smokie.....and too, Devon and Darwin are putting in some decent at-bats - even Joey appears to getting his mojo back in order.

P.S. Thanks for the correction on what is and isn't a hit.

Canada's Superman saves the day for the Jays. Kevin Pillar hit a walk-off homer in the 9th to give the Jays the win and a sweep of the Seattle Mariners series. Rock on Kevin!

Just as news comes that Tulo will be back for this series with Atlanta and JD could be back this weekend, Mike Pearce was placed on the DL. The starting pitcher for the Jays today will be new-guy Mike Bolsinger. Apparently, the Braves are struggling this year having the second worse record in baseball right now. Hopefully - for the Jays - their difficulties will continue during the four-game series.

Oh, and RA Dickie returns to Rogers Center today pitching for the Braves today.

Go Jays, Go!

Bolsinger has given up 3 runs in 2 innings, the Jays have committed three errors and have not been on base yet. I hope they pick up their game soon - the ECF starts in about half an hour.

Bolsinger got through the 3rd with a little help from a double-play by Devon and Goins and the Jays got a run in the bottom of the 2nd to narrow the score 3 - 1. Off to the ECF. Much luck Jays.
