Gonna see the Reds Vs Blue Jays on the 31st. Im pumped, i got the reds jersey, baseball cap, and red long sleeve shirt. Blue Jays Suck!!!

Oh you lucky fella. You might contact IRBS and see if he and his son are going. Haven't heard yet how the Jays did - just finished watching the ECF.

Glad I switched channels and watched the Pens - just read an article on Sportsnet and the Jays stank tonight. The Atlanta Braves whupped their butts 10 - 6. Apparently the pitchers were really off hitting 5 Atlanta batters thereby setting a franchise record - not one that they will want mentioned though. The defence was off too. Ah well, I fully expect they will be back to playing good ball tomorrow.

No Pens game today to interfere with watching the Jays lose their second game to the Atlanta Braves. They came close a couple of times only to see it slip away in the hands of the relievers. Hopefully........they will have better luck on the road especially as Tulo will be in the line-up.

Today it was 9 - 5 for the Braves

Tulo not back until at least Thursday.
Martin also hopeful for Thursday.
Donaldson maybe this weekend as well.

Now if they could only beat the Braves.

The Blue Jays have suspended Kevin Pillar for 2 games after his very uncharacteristic behavior in yesterday's game with the Braves. Watching Kevin in an interview with the media right now apologizing once again for his outburst and use of a homophobic slur. Head up Kevin, it was a lapse in judgement but does not define who you are - you will get past this.

Will definitely be tuning in to watch the final game of the Jays vs Braves series today after everything that went on yesterday. Apparently and in spite of a Brave's player stating there will be retribution, the stupid umps have decided it will not be necessary to give the teams a warning - which could set the stage for lots more nastiness. Personally, I think Joey Bats was an idiot for once again tossing his bat after hitting a homer - yes, he did apologize to the the Braves catcher but the benches still cleared and once it was announced that Freeman's hand was indeed broken by a pitch, you can be sure that the Braves will be in a feisty mood.

Kevin Pillar and Devon Travis are both out of the line-up - the latter because he was injured by an intentional pitch in retaliation for the hit on Freeman, yesterday. So the Jays lose a stand-up player because of an error by a pitcher.......that's is just so wrong on so many levels.

Joey got hit by the second pitch - hopefully that will be the end of it................as long the Jay's pitchers can lay off hitting the batters for the Braves.

Jays on the board first.

I was listening to Greg Zaun on the pre-game show talk about this so-called code of honor in baseball that basically makes it imperative for teams to stand up for their players who get injured - intentionally or not - by retaliating. How very juvenile of them. Loup did not intentionally break Freeman's hand as the man himself said to the media after the game. However, the Braves pitcher who just hit Joey did hit him intentionally and that is simply stupid, petty and should be beneath the great game of baseball. IMNSHO

The Jays are ahead 3 zip after the 1rst - Stroman got two strike-outs and didn't come anywhere near a batter.

The Jays are on the board for 2 in the 1rst.

Edit: Make that 3 on the board.............they snuck one by me during my rant.

This incident should not be used to define Kevin Pillars future nor should it define his past. If people are going to hold this against him then they are wrong to do so. He apologized with words for the word he used and as far as i'm concerned its a new page in the book and the confrontation over the issue should be over. Jays still suck!!!

Could not agree with you more about Kevin, Johnnny. This was so out of character for Kevin and watching him during today's media interview, I could hear the sincerity in his voice and the desolation in his eyes.

That said, the Jays are sucking a bit less at the moment. They are up 3 - zip top of the 3rd, Stroman stranded a runner in the bottom of the 2nd.

And so far, both teams are acting like adults.

Joey just hit his first double of the game with no one out

Morales just hit an RBI single scoring Joey

4 zip Jays

Oh, oh.........Cecliliani just hit a homer and it looks as if he injured his shoulder on the hit....shoot......he's off to the dressing room. Jays have a 6 nothing lead in the 3rd with only one away.

The skies just opened up above the field and rain is pelting down while fans scurry for cover and the game is being called.

Now they are scurrying to cover the field and Buck thinks the rain will have passed before they do. Buck is so funny.

Dwight Smith Jr is about to appear for the Jays once the rain clears and will take Darrell Ceciliani's place on the field and in the batting order...........so another bites the dust and the DL takes another victim........sheesh.

Oh...we are getting bonus coverage of the Preds vs the Ducks.........the Ducks have a goal over half way through the 1rst P.

Ducks survive a penalty but will now have to do it again as Getz goes to the box. Score stil 1 zip Ducks.

take me back to the ball game........

We're back to the ball game

Goins up to bat with 2 away and nobody on........Smith getting lose in the dug-out

and he's out on strikes

Stroman issues a 2-out walk

and gets the last batter out - no harm, no foul for Marcus in the 3rd

Holy Smoke...........our catcher Luke Maile just hit a homer as top of the order in the 4th

7 nothing Jays

Wow..........you could hear that clear crisp hit of the bat on that one

Holy s*&t........Marcus just hit a homer.........3rd homer of the game for the Jays

8 zip

Only one other pitcher has homered in Blue Jays history.........and before the game Marcus told a reporter he was just going to go out there and hit something........way to go Marcus. Teheran off the mound - Sam Freeman in to pitch for the Braves.

Carrera makes base, Joey with a single, Morales up and goes up the middle.....and he drives in another run as Zeke comes in to score, Joey stops at second

9 zip Jays

Smith up to bat - first time up in the majors......first time up for the Jays.........no pressure......and he's been at 3 and 2 forever it seems....and takes a walk to load the bases with nobody out. Well done Jr.

Coughlan up and he's working the pitcher too

I must say our guys are reading the pitchers pretty darn well........though Coughlan is called out on a swing after going 2 and 2

So both our catcher and our pitcher hit homers tonight......how often does that happen?

And the inning comes to an end for the Jays on a double play - one of their best innings in like, ages.

Marcus has walked a batter and struck out 4 coming into the 5th

and gives up a hit with the 3rd pitch

of course it was Kemper....

he gets ahead of Flowers 0 - 2 and finishes him off on the 3rd pitch

gets behind on Peterson 2 - 0, comes back with a strike, foul tip for strike 2, and gets Peterson swinging for his second strike out of the inning then finishes off the order with a ground ball to second. Great inning for Marcus.

Sanchez will start for the Jays in Baltimore

Ryan Goins leads off the order and strikes out
Maile goes after the first pitch and is out at first
Marcus grounds to first

2 away for Marcus and the 3rd batter makes base on an infield hit that was tough to handle for Goins - no error though

Luke just got nailed but good by a foul ball, under the shin guard

Braves get another man on base with 2 away

Marcus needs to finish this now

Marcus even at 2 and 2.........working on 6 pitches........and gets him to ground out on the 7th stranding two Braves on base......heh,heh, heh.....not as clean an inning for Marcus but he got the job done

Zeke grounds out
Joey pops up to the outfield
Morales with a 2-out double
Missed what happened next but the Jays did score a run in the inning

Kemper at bat and is out as Marcus fields the ball
Marcus' pitch count at 91
Flowers out on a fly ball to Zeke - 2 away
Peterson makes first on a hit to left field short of Joey
Marcus gives up back to back hits and Gibby is taking a stroll to the mound - Ryan Tepera will replace Stroman - too bad as Marcus will not be in line for a possible win

Luke just got nailed again - on the wrist this time........the guys going to be black and blue tonight

Ryan ends the inning on a breaking ball third strike and the Braves strand two more

Bowminster in to pitch for the Braves top of the 7th

Coughlan gets a lead-off single
Barney pops up - 1 away
Goins robbed of a base hit - 2 away
Maile grounds out to 3rd for the final out of the innning

Apparently Ceciliani has a partial dislocation of his left shoulder - they keep dropping like flies

Tepera retires the line-up in order and we are off to the 8th with the Jays managing to hang in there at 9 zip

Just watched a commercial with Marcus Stroman urging on fans with Let's Rise.......I'd say he rose to the occasion today

Zeke takes a walk on ball 4 with one away
Zeke advances to second as Joey grounds out to the infield for 2 away
Kendes hit the ball back to the pitcher for the final out

Joe Smith to the mound to finish off the 8th and faces the middle of the Brave's line-up

With one away and facing a full count on Kemp, Joe catches him swinging for the second out

Joe finishes off the order with a 3-pitch strike-out and we are off to the 9th inning boys and girls

Ian Cole on the mound for the Braves

Jason Grilli will close out the 9th for the Jays as the batters fail to add to the lead

Jason gets the line-up out in order and the Jays finish the series with a shut-out and a big lift for the team. Nice recovery guys - now if you can just keep up the momentum in Baltimore.

Final: 9 zip

Saw the opening 2 innings of the Jays vs Orioles and it appears that after yet another rain delay, I will get to see them in the 10th inning once the game resumes. The score is 3 - 3 and the Jays just went down in order. Osuna will be on the mound for the bottom of the inning........so we should see an 11th inning.

Pardon me, Jason Grilli is on the mound for the Jays........yes we are finally back after almost an hour.........it is just before midnight in Baltimore

Wow...........Jason got the Orioles best hitter, Davis on three strikes.....but with 2 away, Trumbo makes base - darn it
Man, he's got a killer fast ball when he is on top of it.............oh shit....a walk-off homer for Castille and the Orioles will take this one 5 - 3.

I can't believe I waited an entire hour to just watch them lose the game......course, had they won, I'd have been choked cause I missed it. C'est la vie

Good News: Martin activated from DL
Bad News: Sanchez back on with finger laceration.

I heard all about Aaron's finger today, IRBS..............Jamie and Greg and Buck and Pat were into long explanations about what could be happening and why. The consensus is that by operating on the nail they may have weakened it and it never really heals properly. Maybe they could chop off the tip and give him an artificial tip...........though that would probably mean going back to learning how to pitch all over again. ;-)

Bolsinger has given up 4 runs, the Orioles pitcher has given up 2 - the last one a homer by Smokie. Kevin's made base every time up, Joey been on base 2 times, Zeke's been on twice, Devon's been on twice and just got another double..........but they can't bring the guys home. They've had the bases loaded and still couldn't get one measly guy home.

Geez...........some of Bolsinger's pitches are no better than an old crone like myself could throw - he just walked his 4th batter with a series of them that didn't come anywhere near to a strike.

Russel Martin is having to throw himself all over the plate and beyond trying to catch the ball

Well thank heavens for that, after walking his fifth batter, Bolsinger is finally retired

Leone's first two pitches don't give me much hope - his last resulted in a wild one that took away a double play for the Jays and ..........he's behind 3 - zip................judging by what I see from Russell, he's none to happy either.

Leone did manage to work his way out with a double-play stranding 2 Oriole runners.

Score still 4 - 2..............and we are off to the 7th..............BTW the Preds are ahead JLM

Joey comes through with a 3-run homer and the Jay are on top 5- 4

Leone gets Manny Machado and is relieved by Aaron Luke bottom of the7th with one away

Luke gives up a base hit to Davis and his night is done as Danny Barnes comes to the mound for the Jays

Trumbo gets on base after going for a full count with one away

Castille homers and drives in three runs and the Orioles are back on top 7 to 5

Barnes gives up another hit and there is still only 1 away

Thank heavens Joey finally ends the inning with a lovely double-play

Top of the 9th and the Jays are in a 2-run deficit. Pillar to start off the order.

Jays down to final out.....

Zeke flies out to right and that's the ball game folks...........the Jays drop another one.

So the real question is ..... when does the fire sale start? The current cast of clowns that constitute the front office aren't going to want to keep all this payroll for a team that isn't going to win it all. Rogers is Rogers after all. I suspect anybody who has a contract up in the next 2 years will be dealt. Suspect the only ones who stay are the ones nobody wants (Bautista is in this category. He is ours -- not that this is a bad thing). Tulo has no-trade. Everybody else is up for grabs I think. I think this includes Donaldson if he ever returns to the lineup.

I noticed some mutterings about trading Donaldson, IRBS. Quite frankly, I don't know what to think about that especially as he hasn't played in ages and we don't know how he will be when he does.

What gets me is that the guys are almost consistently getting on base so they are finding the zone but why they can't bring more runners home is beyond me. Kevin Pillar is hot. Devon Travis is hot. Joey is homering again. Zeke is almost predictable too. I am more upset about the bullpen, today's offering was almost amateur hour out there - it was beyond pathetic at times. I don't think they are clowns, IRBS but something needs to be done to shake them up - the season is fast getting away from them.
