I wonder how many of those little communities disappeared when the railway cut their branch line and the elevators closed?

Here's a couple that I encountered when I worked on the CPR one summer.

Piapot, Sask. ... Bowell, Alberta (That one was named after a Canadian Prime Minister!)

There were hundreds, all over the West. You're just ignorant, that's all.

The Village did not disappear. When did they tear out the CPR Mainline? The elevator is still there it's just not POOL any longer.

Amy others you want to take a crack at?

If you Google Bowell, they acknowledge that it existed ... that's all that is left. I spent a week living on a siding, there. It's near CFB Sheffield.

Is it on the list?

How did you work on a branch line that was cut?

BTW Bowell is still there too. It can be seen from space using Google Maps
