Last time I checked the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan was the largest exporter of raw logs from BC. Closed all their unionized BC mills and exported the wood.

I'd propose yu-uu-ge duties on all semi or unprocessed product leaving the country. Process it here. Make employment here.
Sounds good. The odd part about this whole. . . debate. . . is that people seem to accept without question that the current arrangement is "fair," and that any change to the current arrangement is "unfair."

B.C. lumber companies already sell lumber in China , Europe , Japan and anywhere else they can sell it .Take a look down next time you cross the 2nd narrows bridge , that big pile of lumber is destined for Asian markets .

Yup, but Canada needs to expand that market..

But here is another problem.. we ship all this raw material over seas and buy back finished products.. if we had a strong manufacturing industry here in Canada we could sell to Canadian Companies..

This company, Big Lots, buys from Furniture Manufacturers in Quebec. When I lived in Texas this was one of my favourite stores.
