Continental ice and icebergs do not come from frozen sea ice. Glaciers form from precipitation .."snow" ... and it snows more in cold places when the temperature goes up. (Even blithering idiot Prairie boys would know that from direct experience.) Really cold air can't carry much or any significant amounts of water molecules. As it warms, the air carries more moisture up to it's vapour point and then the water precipitates out. It ends up as snow, right up to zero, Celsius. The more the snow accumulates, the bigger the glaciers grow. If it were getting colder at the poles, precipitation of both kinds (snow me rain) would be dropping there.

Now, if the Koch brothers happen to own your balls, you don't dare publish information like that.

If sea ice is increasing, why can we navigate all over our Arctic Archipelago, now? Glass bottom boat tours over the Erebus and Terror are only a few years away! We're even building a class of warship now to patrol the waters that were impossible to navigate three decades ago. I could believe that continental ice might be increasing in the Antarctic.
