Given that most seniors are no longer working and on fixed income, I have no problem with them getting some breaks here and there.

I also have no problem helping seniors in need. If Das or JLM were not smart enough to plan for their retirement or get decent enough jobs, I'm all for helping them out. There's a difference between helping those in need and being pigs at the trough. Seniors today are the most entitled generation in history. Really, who other than a whining entitled biatch would have a problem paying taxes on perks?

And who is doing all the jealous Whining here to-day?

Northern Ontario,
We should start taxing the benefits seniors get.

10% Tuesdays at IGA. They're like pigs at the trough.

I'm sure you know where all the free goodies are.

We should have an old peoples card that must be presented in order to get an old people discount. Old people should be taxed on their freebies. It's time for you to pay your fair share.

They aren't taking advantage of a sale. They are getting a benefit that isn't available to everyone. Why should a multimillionaire septuagenarian get benefits that a poor young couple with 3 kids not get? Seniors that don't want to pay their fair are just pigs at the trough

It's time to drain the swamp

No. It's a systemic problem

Yes, I know. Their benefits are practically endless. Pigs at the trough

I can accept that you believe you are jealous when you question the entitlements of politicians and civil servants but I disagree. I think it's the proper thing to do when taxpayers dollars are on the line.

Of course I don't feel entitled like you do.

Sorry for embarrassing you again. Perhaps if you weren't such a hypocrite and felt so damned entitled, we could have a reasonable discussion on this matter.

Would be nice to see who the Canadians were in the Panama Papers... CBC needs to stop protecting them

Everybody needs to carry their own weight and do their fair share. I don't know why some people need to be hypocrites about it

Can you elaborate? That's a fairly blanket statement

Everybody needs to carry their own weight

Quit expecting others to look after you if you're more than capable of looking after yourself.

and do their fair share.

Part of being part of a community means you share the work load and you share the responsibility.

I don't know why some people need to be hypocrites about it

The current generation of seniors inflated their standard of living by putting the country and the provinces massively in debt, expecting their children and grandchildren to pay the bill. They're the first ones in line when it comes to perks and freebies yet many will laughingly say that the kids today are entitled. If they are, it's clear to see where they got it from.

It's also hilarious...................coming from a guy who is a perpetual parasite! :) :)

I dont expect people to take care of me, ive never requested help once.

My taxes are all paid and up to date and im debt free with a very strong credit rating.

I only asked why the CBC is with holding the names of the Panama Papers especially since those papers where mentioned in the article as comparison but yet we dont know who is on the list.

Actually, you aren't. The government is billions in debt. One of the reasons seniors are doing so well is that they artificially improved their standard of living through government programs but instead of paying the required taxes, they let the government borrow the money. They saddled their kids with that debt so they could live better. If I was a senior today, I'd apologize to my kids and grand kids.

What makes it worse is that they're the first ones at the trough expecting freebies and discounts. Then they whine about kids today having a sense of entitlement. It's embarassing

BTW, if your a senior that takes advantage of a 10% discount at a grocery store or any other seniors discount, you are asking for others help. The company needs its margins and if they're giving you a break, they're getting it back from others, including the single working mom with two kids. How pathetic is that?
