Look up Svalbard on Youtube. It has the most thriving economy of any other region equally far North, and it's also more internationally diverse than one might expect.
Not bad for a population of a little over 2000.
But not nearly as far north. Svalbard is thriving compared to any community as far north as it.
How silly-all these LIE-beral idiots who want to legalize illegals! Govt is struggling to find housing, jobs, medical care and education and language training for the Syrians and these dimbulbs want to legalize any doofus who can lie their way onto an airplane and show up at the border?
The great majority of these are illegal for the following reasons: criminal record back home renders them ineligible, no suitable Cdn educational skill, seeking Cdn employment ONLY because they have found a loophole in our tax law and can profit from it, want to operate a scam here because Cdn criminal prosecution is more lax than other places.
During the reign of LIE-beral Jean Chretien-efforts were made to limit over crowding in Cdn jails so all foreign born criminals were offered immediate ending of their jail sentence in exchange for NOT fighting govt deportation orders-NINETY EIGHT PERCENT of foreign born criminals preferred to be in Cdn jails rather than walking free in their places of birth!!
In 2016, the Ontari-owe LIE-beral govt quietly did a deal with a guy who had committed a THIRTY MILLION DOLLAR SCAM here-and govt did a deal to let him out of the country without criminal charges if he promised never to come back here-because LIE-berals decided their legal system did not have the financial resources to properly prosecute the thief in a timely way-so the guy walked happily away with his thirty millions!!

Reductio ad absurdum. Sneaking into another country without at least saying "hi" to Customs IS a crime though. Of course I also love the logic of many on the left who think that if you're against illegal immigration, you're a racist.
Considering we've been paying to import people from other countries to work because Canada can't find people to fill the jobs (McDonalds, Tim Hortons, etc) maybe now we will and e can do away with the Foreign Workers Program entirely. They can stay and work here and pay taxes and spend their money, put their children through school here and then those children can start business and employ more canadians...
Most of these illegals are legal in the US. THey're scared to be deported back to their country of origin due to religious persecution, political persecution and for Syrians, their home has been bombed into smithereens.

Where is the food and shelter coming for these people? Where is the money coming from to pay the staff required to process,feed and educate the people? Where are the money and resources coming from to police these areas?
You know, it's wonderful to say let's help the world, but no one has managed to come up with a method of dealing with the shear numbers of people.
If we look at Europe, can anyone point to a country that has the money and proper plan in place to deal with their immigrants?
The world is not all rainbows and unicorns. I am genuinely surprised that one of the European countries hasn't resorted to martial law in order to get a handle on things. I suspect this has not been done because they do not wish to be seen as cruel - or compared to Nazis. In the meantime, uncontrolled immigration is past putting a strain on resources. Crime is up and citizens of these countries will be forced to take matters into their own hands.
Pandora's box is open. What do you do?
Mobilize the armies of these countries and send the immigrants back. Trains and ships. Give the problem back to where it came from.
In the mean time, ask Saudi Arabia and some of the other richer Arab states to take some. (Yeah, that will go over well.) They're too busy laughing at Europe for taking in their offal.
