If you actually read the history of segregation it was also the party that dismantled that system.
Times change. The GOP of Abe Lincoln was socialist and the Democrats at the time were very conservative. The current left-wing are as racist as it gets when it comes to the treatment of white males and are only inclusive of those who buy into their socialist agenda. Everyone to the right of mild communism is either disregarded or called disparaging names and no other opinions or points of view are allowed.
I think Obsession is the sin, political stripe is incidental. If some A$$hole is trying to ram something down your throat does it really matter WHAT it is he is trying to ram?
You aren't disregarded because of your perceived position on a political scale. You are disregarded because your views lack logical consistency. So inconsistent are your views, when pointed out, your only response is personal attacks.
When Trumpites can actually stick to issues, their whining may actually have a legitimate reason to it.
