OTTAWA - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the 2016-2017 New Year’s Eve was “150 years in the making and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ring in the New Year together.”

But Trudeau was not in the country he leads at it marked the beginning of it’s 150th anniversary year.

He and his family were out of the country on holiday, his office said, at an undisclosed location.

During his first New Year's Eve as prime minister, Trudeau took his family to the Caribbean island of Nevis and St. Kitts. While that trip was not publicized, journalists on the island quickly recognized the Canadian PM and published stories and photos.

Hafta assume a limited amount of patriotic blood courses through his veins but of more import why would he be 'vacationing' where offshore passports are on sale?
Hafta wonder what he has up his sleeve, governing by deficit is unconventional so sunny ways most likely feels an offshore passport may come in handy when the doo doo hits the fan.
The business was born here in St. Kitts when Chris Kalin struck a deal with the government a decade ago following the collapse of the islands’ sugar industry.

No thanks the hug a thug soother is far too liberal for me, my info came from an unnamed source claiming trump may annex canuckstan which makes juniors' offshore passport gambit plausible, no drama.
It's unpatriotic to question facts presented by unnamed sources, editors will of course ignore that the lights are still on in vermont and continue spewing political content sans any research or fact checks, it's the new lame stream media buzz feed.
Can't really blame junior & partner for taking a break though as tending kids and fulfilling first lady obligations can be demanding, what guy would deny his partner a warm sand rejuvenation trip?

Now you are just being silly

I'm talking to a Trumpite. It's a requirement. Why don't you regale us with your explanation of why the Liberals giving Bombardier millions is bad but Trump giving millions to Carrier is good. I always love that one.

What a foolish question!

That wasn't a question. No wonder you vote the way you do.

Seriously, if it's not okay for our PM to vacation outside the country, you have to believe that it's not okay for your Pres to vacation outside your country.

It's such a stupid thing to get annoyed about, it's hilarious. Like worrying about how many times the President plays golf. Every President gets criticized for golfing, as if it's something new or partisan.

God, you'd think there weren't any issues to worry about, the way you go on.

Now you're getting even more silly... like Cannuck silly!

The taxpayers saved jobs at Carrier. Socialists love that kind of stuff.

Ahhhhh... your frustration and tears never seem to quench my thirst for them!

Trump saved Carrier jobs... and you feel such pain!

LOVELY!

Trudeau says the first thing that enters his fool head at the time! Nothing new there. I'm expecting to hear "it's 2017" any minute.
