I consider myself an orthodox adherent of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church. Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell mean nothing to me. Get into the details and they offer radically different visions of society and of individual responsibility and destiny.
Didn't the Catholic church change those in 1968 ecumenical council ?

Once again because you obviously missed it...prior to 1913 (1917 in Canada)

There were still business taxes and sales taxes. Just no personal income tax. There were also high customs and excise tariffs which funded a lot of government projects and services. Free trade was the biggest mistake ever made and the reason our personal tax burden is so high.

I am well acquainted with income taxes since I worked in that field for 20 years.

The first income tax was created during the 1860s in order to finance the Civil War. Historically it is a fact that there were only about 2 millionaires in the USA before the war and over 100 after it ended. The next income tax was introduced in the 1890s as certain parties were intent upon profiting from a war to "liberate" Cuba from the Spaniards. Neither lasted. Just a few years later Nelson Aldrich started the Constitutional Amendment which sanctioned an income tax as he anticipated WW I and intended to profit from it.

The government needs an income tax in order to generate revenues which pay for these wars along with the corporate welfare which profit the elite. This has been discussed enough times on this forum and has never been a secret.

Poll: Unconscious Clinton More Fit to be President than Conscious Trump

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—In a positive development for the Democratic nominee for President, a new poll released on Sunday reveals that likely voters find an unconscious Hillary Clinton “substantially more fit” to be President than a conscious Donald Trump.

In a hypothetical matchup between a Clinton who has been rendered completely unconscious and a fully sentient Trump, voters chose an inert Clinton over an ambulatory Trump by a margin of nine percentage points.

A spokesperson for the Clinton campaign hailed the findings. “We have every reason to believe that Hillary Clinton will be a fully conscious President,” the spokesperson said. “But even if she is not, she is still the far better choice.”

The same poll revealed that a broad majority of voters found an unconscious Donald Trump more fit to be President than a conscious one.

When you subtract that from the ABC one where she's leading by 8, it's still a pretty healthy 5 point lead
