that was awesome, I loved watching our Canadians, there were others who just missed a bronze by an eyelash, but doesn't matter, just being an Olympian and performing at your best, even though it doesn't
bring in a medal is what it is all about.

I love great Britain too, but I'm afraid the overkill that has been flowing into this thread about
great Britain, makes me sorry I ever spoke up about them, the man has lost it, and it seems they
now are the only country who took park in the Olympics, oh well, we know better.

yes, we're proud of all of our Canadians.

I had a personal goal of 21 medals for Canada in the Summer Olympics. But i'd specified an even distribution.. 7 Gold.. we got 4. I know a couple of results, though, in which highly suspect athletes (with respect to doping) robbed us of the gold.

Canada has very stringent drug testing, and a sports culture that is very antagonistic to dope, as does Australia and others. But with all the adulation and money that comes with an Olympic Championship.. we'll likely always be a step behind the cheaters.. i trust all their filthy lucre will assuage their conscience.

I was disappointed with Canada's performance on the flat water, traditionally a strength, and especially with Rowing. Hopefully resurrecting the Mens 8s, the anchor of any rowing program and in which Canada has had great success in the last 3 decades (3 gold medals, one silver), will get us back on the rails.. very glad we got a gold in Track and Field, traditionally a weakness.

Well done, all Canadian athletes.. you did the country proud.

That is why we are the "Bronze Medal Kings" with two third of our medals as bronze over the last couple of Olympics That is a pretty good indicator of the "cleanliness" of our athletes and maybe, it is the best that clean athletes may ever do.


Well done, all Canadian athletes.. you did the country proud.

Katie Ledecky and Bryce Harper walked out to the pitcher’s mound at Nationals Park a few minutes before Wednesday night’s game against the Orioles, and frankly if they had walked right back to the dugout that walk alone would have been plenty noteworthy for D.C. sports fans. But the winner of five medals at the Rio Olympics and the 2015 National League most valuable player had other plans.


Scheduled to throw out the first pitch for the third time at Nationals Park, Ledecky first had to unburden herself of the gold and silver medals she wore around her neck. She took off the Nationals batting practice cap she was wearing and handed that to Harper. Then, one by one, she took off the medals and handed those to Harper, too. Then, she fired homeward, a strike (or close to it) straight into the glove of Shawn Kelley, who does not usually catch ceremonial first pitches like that.

You mean they're "English English?"

That's Roger Moore's great racist line, saying that Idris Elba, born and raised in London, isn't English English enough to play James Bond, though apparently a Welshman, a Scot, and an Irishman are "English English." Cuz they ain't black.

James Bond is of Scottish and Swiss descent, not Jamaican descent. You can't have him played by a negro.

As for Roger Moore, he's the greatest Bond ever.

It's not just the Poles, either. There are the others from the EU's eastern states - the Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians, Bulgarians and the quite frankly criminal and disgusting Romanians.
