Trump Meets with Gold Star Families - Uncle Sam's Misguided Children
The organizer to the event was Karen Vaughn, whose son Aaron, a Navy Seal, was killed in action in 2011. She described the meeting as open, without restrictions on the discussion, and found Trump to be "empathetic, compassionate, kind" and understanding of military families concerns of the current administration's policies.
It was much different than the flagrant politicization of a military death that the Democratic Convention and Khizr Khan put on. It might be Clinton, the DNC and in fact Khizr Khan who should apologize for so shamelessly using the death of Capt. Humayun Khan as a foil to attack Trump's immigration policies. As has been previously posted, Khizr's opposition to those policies stem from all kinds of murky and ulterior motives.
It was clearly put on in such a way as to prevent discussion of the substance of the issue, by way of its being placed on a pedastal of patriotic outrage.. and delivered by someone who could spew venom on Trump's character without allowing a rebuttal and defense, Khan having wrapped himself in his Gold Star status.
That was most disrespectful to the memory of his son's sacrifice. And it was outright bait by the Clinton campaign to draw Trump into a trap which they duly sprang.
