Harper is somewhat responsible for Trudeau's re-gigging of his budget from 10 to 30. The commitments made by Harper are thrust upon Trudeau and his spending has to now incorporate that reality. This is not an excuse for lying to the public during the campaign, but from a practical standpoint, Harper must bear some of the blame.

That said, no one has the benefit of being able to see into the future, so Harper's responsibility does get muted.

This same situation will be equally applicable to Trudeau as well, however, as mentioned earlier, both he and his old man have no issues whatsoever with piling on the debt and mortgaging the futures of generations to come.

Maybe some day you'll be able to see past your anger and myopic mindset to see the bigger picture. Until that day comes, your claims of others being ideologically driven, apologists and any mental midgetry are nothing more than a reflection of yourself.

Really? Harper is responsible for Junior lying through his teeth during the campaign as to what he would keep the deficit down to? Harper doesn't shoulder any of the "blame" on that one. That is ALL on JT's shoulders. The man isn't stupid, and his advisors aren't stupid. They knew going in that there was no way they could keep to a 10m deficit and relied on the general public, once again, allowing them to use the excuse that it was "the other guys fault" and "they didn't know".

As for "mortgaging the futures", that can't be laid at the feet of JUST P.E.T. The cons and other Libs have done AT LEAST as good a job as he did in that category.

Trudeau is bound to assume responsibility for the promises made, programs initiated, etc.... That said, Harper does bear some of the burden in my eyes. Same thing for Harper when he assumed control from Martin's short-lived reign and that of Chretin.

Yeah, it's not like he scrapped the EH-101 contract, paid a crap load in penalties for it and then handed Lockheed Martin $500 billion to help with the development of the flying dog laughingly called the "Thunderbolt". The P-47 must be rolling over in its grave.
