What a stupid rule! One possibility would be English on the Ontario side, French on the Québec side. Two languages is redundant.

Or at the very least, exempt anyone under fifteen from any language requirements.

Most adults fail to learn both official languages well, and then they expect children to do so?

Hypocrites.

To be fair to the front-line staff, they just enforce the rules, so let's not shoot the messenger. But those who make the rules need to give their heads a shake.

You have to be a blithering idiot to enforce a rule like that against an 8 year old and a 5 year old. As the Nuremberg trials concluded, "just folllowing orders" isn't nearly good enough. The front line staff had poor judgement and an obvious inability to make good decisions ... and they work for us, lucky us.

Back in my day lemonade stands walked uphill both ways in 10 ft of snow. We didn't have no peanut allergies or gluten free. Lemonade was made of worms and we liked it.

Correction: This is an Ontario problem

Correction. The NCC operates on both sides of the Ottawa River and is Federally run. Canada problem, even though it involves only twi cities in two different provinces.

This incident promotes a particular kind of entrepreneurial spirit. You know, the one where they have a spotter looking out for NCC officers on patrol or taking notes of patterns to know when the officer is usually in their area.

Then we wonder why Canadian criminals are so well organized at such a young age. Thank official bilingualism!

If our politicians get any stupider; I say we need to send in a team of psychiatrist to evaluate if they are capable of some simple cognitive test, like counting to 10; not going around bullying others; but mostly we need to let them know that 'absolutely no one gives a f&^k about a lemonade stand's written sign done by 2 little girl. As far as I remember, the signs say " Lemonade 50c". This is why people are angry, we are run by pinheads.
