People generally are pleased when your answer from government isn't sixteen different things and five Idunnos. I'll bet Ontario truckers are absoluteky thrilled with 100 kmh speed limiters and poor fuel choices while in competition with out-of-province haulers
What they should have is 'clunkers night' where hobbyists repair the clunkers as the owner has no hope in hell of ever driving anything better.

Given that an electric car can't drive more than a couple of hours without a recharge, I think that this is a rather foolish move. Of course Norway ain't that big so perhaps driving from fjord A to fjord B in an electric car isn't a big deal. With Canada 2nd largest landmass in the world, I think the challenges would be greater.
Also, I think they may find that if everybody does what they are doing they may find themselves without their big source of revenue which allows them to be well off as opposed to like Venezuela.
