Yet people act surprised when it happens, that is the scary part as that same scheme is played out on the international stage time after time after time when Governments privatize any natural resource that has a financial value to it. (if it doesn't one will be created)
That would make the 'general public' the stupid one in the crowd if they cannot see the connection and the goal is to keep the general public in the poor house as much as possible while putting on a brave front of doing everything possible (and then some) to prevent the very thing that (keeps) happening.
Hugo didn't run his country into the ground, the same people that push for privatization of anything built with public funds is the 2nd part of a plan that existed from the beginning. Hugo stopped the 'service fees' from increasing but the resistance put up by private corporations ruined any of the good it could have done. Ontario Hydro won't be any different than some 3rd world country with a natural resource, the profits go out of Province and quality of service goes downhill and fees go uphill, 'constantly' rather than it being a one time deal.
One has to wonder how much of that 'guaranteed income' for each Canadian would have utilities involved in the rate a person gets. Something like the Northern Living Allowance, if that is even still around.
