Yes I agree but the 'conservative old stockers' have to calm down and quit frothing at the mouth every time they see an imaginary calamity about to occur and remember that they have done the same before....and that there are more important and costly issues happening and about to happen to Canadians...

also, when Mila Mulroney tried doing something similar (including wanting military and R.C.M.P. to salute her like American military and U.S.M.C. did for Nancy Reagan) that she was rightly mocked for it and dropped the idea.

....

On the cbc they are saying we as Canadians are jealous of how good looking she is, lol give me a break. And they're also saying how spending tax dollars on her extra help is as good as an investment as that senate reappointment fiasco....

They even referenced "zoolander", that's something Blackleaf would do...

That's their best argument?

If sophie wants to be involved in a real cause grab a hammer, couple of 2x4's, and some nails and get involved in the rebuilding of ft mcmurray. Spoiled little brat

Nah, she'd probably smack her thumb with the hammer and go on compo! :)

Give her whatever she wants, as long as she does not go singing at public memorials. Her role is first and foremost mother; she should limit her public speaking and other charitable duties to what she can handle. Two nannies were hired to watch her kids, so the kids are not the problem? Maybe a secretary to book her engagements or a valet to lay her suits?

The underlined part conflicts with the rest of your statement

I'm quoting Karen Simard from the CBC article post sections here, the following quote is her product and not mine... Im just sharing it, i repeat this is not my writing but hers and i'm just sharing it:

I voted Liberal.
I am a feminist.
I think Mrs. Trudeau has no right to expect anything.

The whole concept of a "First Lady" is inherently sexist.
It implies that the spouse should have no outside life beyond their partner's career and be a hostess and fundraiser or spokesperson.

The great thing about Canada is that the spouse is absolutely free to have their own career as a doctor, lawyer, or an entertainment reporter (like Mrs. Trudeau did in Quebec for e-talk).

The notion that there should be funding for a "role" for the spouse is ridiculous and we would never expect the husband of a female Prime Minister to play host/fundraiser/spokesperson.

Be a role model by having your own independent career, Mrs. Trudeau. If you want to be a stay-at-home Mom that attends charity functions than great be that, but don't expect us to pay for your CHOICES

i agree with Karen

Should her request be judged by what she does or by who she is? :)

Maybe , her request should be judged by the lack of filtering in the PMO. It's not Sophie, per se who is at fault, here. It is her husband's employees who are at fault for letting this become public.

Amateur hour.

I got to wondering if perhaps Justin's pay cheque isn't big enough to cut her a stipend for doing chores around the place!

I feel like I'm in a time warp.

All of the arguments against Sophie are the same ones we heard against Mila's extravagance, but nothing changed then and she carried on her self proclaimed important work at taxpayers expense.

And I blame her for starting the trend of the PM's wife should be seen doing lot's of important things......

You're self imposed feeling about being in a time warp is excruciatingly bizarre in that you have skipped over the wives of Chretin, martin and Harper in your quest to justify Trudeau's insatiable appetite for entitlements.

In having to go back so many years to Mulroney, yours is nothing more than feigned outrage designed top draw attention away from Sophie Trudeau's outrageous sense of self aggrandizement and entitlement.

... Pretty sad on your part and Sophie's
