Not once were the words rape or rapist uttered or printed before, during or after the trial Boomer - NOT ONCE.

You defending him so avidly.. why.. you feeling guilty about something in your past.. trying to justify your past??

9 women stated it was not consensual.. but rape.

When a women says NO... it means NO..

You've been watching to much 50 Shades of Grey

Innocent until PROVEN guilty. It's the foundation of the justice system. Something you and JLM should read up on.

You can feel free to think what you want about him but it is not backed up by the proven facts.

Canada is continuing their horrid record on women's right. We are number 8 on the top 10 list for rape, and it is definitely under reported. I wonder why?

She was stating her opinion. None of her 'facts' have been backed up in court so it is unknown if she was lying or not.

You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, but personally if it's alright with you I'll take her word over Ghomeshi's.

Boomer doesn't believe in "facts". He just makes em up as he goes.

I think Boomer has the guy pretty closely pegged! :) :)

So you are saying the complainant who addressed the crowd outside the courthouse was lying?

I'm saying the complaint has not been proven. Think about it now, she has chosen to accept an apology, that does not admit to any legal wrong doing, rather than go to court and prove her allegations. That say's more to me than the he said, she said.

No she wasn't - she was stating what happened to her!

If it had gone to trial she'd have been silenced by her lawyer and probably the judge, and it would have concluded being one more charade. If she was lying yesterday outside the courthouse, Ghomeshi would be in a position to sue her A$$ off.

What about O.J. Simpson? Is he innocent too?

No, she was stating what she "says" happened to her.

Why would her lawyer and the Judge "silence" her? Are you saying there's a conspiracy?

and why did she have a lawyer? She was the complainant. The Crown prosecutes.

That's what you believe, that's not what I believe!

A smart person has a lawyer so he/she is prepared should they suddenly need one. Ghomeshi had one of the best lawyers in the land - what chance would she have had against her?

and she would need one, why? Maybe because she was planning on perjuring herself, the same as the last bunch?

You're leading from a false assumption.

Guilty or innocent? Innocent in the first trial. Peace bond in lieu of a second trial.

Here's how I see that. You have to understand that none of the women, or Ghomeshi, asked for, or negotiated anything. Their respective lawyers did. The lawyers knew how far a second trial would go. And that wasn't far.

The first trial was a done deal. All sides know what was said, and read the judge's verdict. I do not believe that you have to be a lawyer to understand what has happened here. In a nutshell, the complainants were advised by their lawyers how to proceed. I suspect the women were told that they had almost no chance of winning. By pressing for a second trial, and if he is found not quilty a second time, no one will listen to the women.

The women's lawyers probably said, paraphrased, "How many times are you willing to lose? We don't have a case!"

If they wanted to speak publicly about what happened, the peace bond was the only 'sure fire' thing that the complainants could get. I certainly believe they want Ghomeshi punished, but the women themselves torpedoed their own case with the lies and collusion.

You can hate Ghomeshi until the cows come home, but his lawyers didn't win the first trial: the women and the Crown lost it.

From a non legal perspective, I wonder how much of what was said by the women is, in fact, the complete truth. In one respect, they painted themselves into a corner. The only thing left for them to do is talk. A news bite that will disappear in a week or so.

So you really want us to believe that she's a bitch and Jian is a good guy. You REALLY think that is a safe assumption? Sorry I don't!

Not in the same post but that is what you are alluding to! Perjury is an act of dishonesty. So tell us how you would characterize them!
