How can the Liberals leave others to defend our national security?

Too young? That is flattering. I'm 72 and I have an extensive knowledge of military history. As for Canada's defence forces I would say that there needs to be a complete rethinking of what Canada needs. Up until now Canada's military has been modeled on what suits the needs of NATO. Perhaps it is about time to take a look at what suits the need of Canada.

We should rearm and train for an American invasion.

Here it is in linear context...

I hope that helps.

The Germans never invaded Canada and at no time during WWI or WWII was there any real chance of them invading Canada.

So, are you wanting to deal in facts or in your fantasy world.

Rethinking, oh yes. Which is code for gutting our forces and sending our soldiers into war zones unequipped, but then the Liberal party of Canada has a long proud history of doing that.

No - rethinking would be establishing a made in Canada foreign policy instead of automatically accompanying the US into the various messes it creates. In the past Canada did just that, by staying out of Vietnam, refusing to aid in the various actions of terror perpetrated by the US in Latin America and elsewhere, and by actually criticizing various acts of American lunacy.

Let's face it - the military Canada created during the Cold War is no longer necessary. Thus we do not need super-high tech jets that are best suited for fighting the Russians. Nor do we need warships designed to seek and destroy Russian submarines. What Canada needs is a mobile reaction force intended to deal with terrorist groups, a properly equipped coast guard, and various rescue and surveillance equipment. Consideration should also be given to taking a good hard look at the way military tech is developing. It is entirely possible that much of the equipment Canada has purchased and is considering purchasing is already obsolete.

Canada participated in Vietnam as peacekeepers. It also gathered intel and shared that with the US.

Perhaps you should actually research Canada's peacekeeping role in Vietnam. Canadian peacekeepers in Vietnam were withdrawn after it was realized that there was no peace to keep. They were there only six months. As I said Canada was not directly involved in the war.

I did. It was what made me able to make you look foolish. I even used the word peacekeepers. Why you ask?

Because I already knew what you just looked up, lol.

No you didn't. You said "stayed out of Vietnam" direct quote.

Your need to now lie, comes as no surprise.
