A politician has innate traits the same as a zebra has stripes. They are what they are!

The majority of this forum isn't involved personally with a political organization. That being said your question is either too vague or will never be answered because very few here have actual political experience

And the wise ones don't want it. :)

The problem with being involved is you have to swallow the kool aid for one party entirely. I have found myself never in complete agreement with any party.

There has to be something innately wrong with a person to be a career politician. Look at the 'before and after' photos of Presidents and Prime Ministers and see how a few years in power ages them. Do an in-depth study of how their personal/family lives suffer.
Why do they fight so hard to gain power, wealth and control when it is so damaging to them and so hard to hang onto? There must be some desperate need in them for recognition to put themselves in positions where every mother's son will be on their asses about something.
We have to be insane to count on anything from a person so insecure and needy as a politician.

As an enthusiastic writer of letters to the editor, I have had people say to me, 'I like your ideas. Why don't you run for council?'
No way! To enter politics you have to make promises and if you get elected you soon find out that there is no way you can keep those promises. You will be up against the 'old boys club' which opposes change and who will make you a public laughing stock and
ridicule every idea you put forth. You can't fight 'em so you either join them or leave the arena. Most politicians unfortunately join them.

there is no wrong or right dialogue,i have read alot of interest in politics within this forum,
just discuss,what the heck?

i find myself in the same position, more so i find my self returning to my romantic Liberal idealogies, where my love of the Constitution flourished,
then i wake up and realize no party holds power, all my romantic thoughts are diminished.
reality sucks,
