Capitalism can not eradicate poverty

Unfortunately we have small minds who can only attract attention by saying or doing something stupid. Carry on Dixie at least you're sensible.
People should read Vol. 1 of Karl Marx's Capital (the other 2 volumes were assembled by Friedrich Engels from Marx's notes after his death). Its assessment of the capitalist system is completely valid. Where Marx and Engels fell apart was in the prescription.
Capitalism ONLY works under strict regulation of markets, currency and credit, under progressive taxation and equitable distribution of wealth.. all in the public interest and under rigorous supervision.
But as we've seen in the Free Market economic disassembly of the last 40 years.. the insidious corruption of the capitalist mentality will always work, by whatever means, to subvert those controls.. to enrich itself and exploit the weak.
