Winnipeg will be very growly when canucks land there for a game on wed., they have
lost quite a few lately, but so have canucks, so hopefully they are growly too,
makes for a spirited game.

Guess it's not bad when you can take a point from the best team in the league! (Better than losing two to the worst team in the league) :)

this morning I heard of a possible change in allstar game format.

game will be 3 on 3, divided into 3 mini games, first 20 minutes will be east on east,
second 20, west on west, then the two winners will play the next 20 for the overall win.
and apparently there will be a big cheque for the winner.

sounds fine to me, all star game is just a showcard for the nhl to advertise their game to
whatever city is hosting, mostly for all the families etc who can actually attend live, and
pick up merchandise and meet players.

there will be some players who will not like 3 on 3, as it exposes weaknesses for some individuals,
but with the high end players at the all star game, maybe that won't happen, except for goalies,
who will be lit up, but then they are usually lit up at all star games as it is now.

pratt on team 1040, (who is a jerk anyway), thinks this format will bring 'hitting' into the game,
but that won't happen, hitting isn't part of the all star game, gms do not want their players injured
playing an exhibition game, it is costly to them, and definitely not worlth that kind of effort, and
I agree with that.
3 on 3 should be fast and fun and competitive for the players, might work just fine.

I would like the format changed back to the world vs. north America. :)

Vancouver got knocked around big time in the first period, played well in the second,
but their lack of scoring is a problem right now.
kids played well, they are coming along nicely, in the middle of a transition, as we
already knew, over next 2 or 3 years this team will completely turn over, the kids
will mature, and new kids will gradually come aboard, it is what it is, no point in
whining and sniffling, all teams go thru similar times.
miller played well, but his team didn't score to help him out, one goal won't do it.

they play Chicago on Saturday, Chicago had all they could handle in Edmonton tonight.

Edmonton played great, they are playing real good hockey, just can't finish it off,
so that is their next phase with tod mcLellan at the helm, teach this team how to
win when they are in charge, I like watching them a lot.

it is confirmed now, the all star game will play the format I mentioned earlier.

the two western divisions against each other, then same in the east, then the two winners for the
overall win.

one million dollars to the winner.

should be fun to watch.

Hmmm. Good idea. How about renaming Tampa the Kickapoos?

Kickapoos are Algonquin and the language group does not extend that far South so far as I know. Florida was habituated more by Muskogi, Arawak, or Karib sub tribes. But who knows, mebbe they would like the name down there.

As for NHL, the Rangers got whipped by Tampa 2-1. While the score was close, Tampa out muscled the Broadway Blues. Seems like the Lightning have got their number and always win out their games.
