"But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel, but the official told Daniel, 'I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you. ' Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 'Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.' So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead." (Daniel 1:8-16 NIV)

How does what we consume impact our spiritual and physical health?

Daniel's experience in Babylon answers the above question thus: GIGO.

GIGO stands for "Garbage In, Garbage Out." GIGO is a computer science acronym that implies bad input will result in bad output.
GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) Definition

Same is true for physical food and spiritual fare. Deficient input results in defective output.

I hear ands see a lot of garbage. Most of it I do not consider worth paying attention to and so am unaffected negatively. People are not computers. People have the ability to think and reason. Sights and sounds are not food or drink, even if there are similarities.

"They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ." (1 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV)

Somewhat ironic that he is sitting in a clear-cut parcel of land.

Milk in the NT references the NT in general and the parables in particular. Meat is a reference to all the prophecies in the OT that reference what much of the NT covers, the bruise the the head of the serpent from Ge:3.

Heb:5:12:
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers,
ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God;
and are become such as have need of milk,
and not of strong meat.

I like Celtic music too, LL. Robin Mark is a personal favorite. Why listen to violent and obscene lyrics which darken the spirit?
in the sixties the fundies proclaimed that the beatles music was evil. I love the beatles music. I'll follow the sun,,and the long and winding road, let it be,,,,. Music is just music. Im sure the dark side has more pressing issues than music.

whatever that dark side may be.

Audio for the eargate and video for the eyes, LL. There is both soul-illuminating and soul-darkening content in visual media, as well. Audio and video fare can enhance the spirit or corrupt it just like physical food can nourish or poison the body. Daniel's experience in the OP was about more than just eating a balanced diet.

Yeah? So?

Somewhat ironic that he is sitting in a clear-cut parcel of land.
I think the meme was intended to be ironic.

Obviously the things people encounter in their lives have an effect on them. One has to be pretty weak-willed or developmentally inept to let it change them for the worst, however.

If posting lots of things is circular thinking then what doe 'Huh?' qualify as? (in that you promote your version as being the accurate model)

"Huh?" is slang for "what?" As in "wtf does that mean?"
(in that you promote your version as being the accurate model)
My version of what? Accurate model of what?

I think the concept of circular reasoning has eluded you.

Spiritual stupor can also render people vulnerable to such things, AG.

Your version of who God is. If each important part in the Bible has a starting point and an ending point ow can it be circular in nature? This earth started at the end of day1 in Ge:1 and it's end is found in Re:20 just when Satan is being sent to the fiery lake. What happens between the two points is linear. The parts that fill that in are found in various parts of the Bible so that is gathering the relevant material so a conclusion can be arrived at.

Taken one way God and the beginning and end of the things created in Ge:1:1 are explained in Ge:1-3 and the end is contained in Re:20-22 and the start of the new heaven for angelic beings and a new earth for mankind. All the rest of the book is about a single verse, Ge:3:15 and the completion of the two bruises.

Hospital grade brandy for the terrible two's and the teething that goes on. Rub on gums with wet finger rather than giving said child a shot glass full. Save a few shots for yourself.

literalism from what I understand might have been sort of a consequence or reaction to the age of reason or enlightenment . It actually is relatively new. I'm sure there are those who consider the parable of the new wine to be a lesson in wine making.
