Montreal in Mosaic today to take on my Riders. Been so wrapped up with the Blue Jays I haven't checked lately to see how things are with the team.
GO RIDERS, GO!
Riders lead 12 - 1 end of the first quarter thank to a TD and a couple of FGs from Paul McCallum. That's the good news, the not so good is that we should have had a couple more TDs but failed to get into the end zone. Rider's defense doing a good job so far, they all ready have an interception off a tipped ball that led to the Rob Bagg TD.
Half-time and Riders lead by 14 points - could have been a lot more but we are 0 for 3 in the red zone and have been relying on Paul's leg to get us points. Have also been helped by a very penalty prone Al's defense and two interceptions thrown by Crompton - both snagged by Macho Harris. It's possible, actually likely that Rakeem Cato will replace Jonathan Crompton in the second half - which could be bad for the Riders as Rakeem can pass and he can run. Lots of dropped balls by both teams in this game - so many lost opportunities. However, the Riders appear to have a handle on their penalty taking as they have had only one for 10 yards in the first half.
GO RIDERS!
Macho Harris snags 3rd interception of the game - this one off Cato - and returns it 50 yards for a Rider TD. Paul good on convert. Riders lead 22 - 2. 16 points off TOs for the Riders. Montreal concedes single on long boot from Early. 23 - 2 Riders. Montreal gets another 3 points on a Bede FG. 23 - 5 Riders to end 3rd Q.
33 - 21 the final and my Riders came through with the win. Macho Harris, Jerome Messam, and Rob Bagg were huge contributors to the win - big kudos guys. Defense came through big time for us. We had a good ground game but I have a few questions about Kevin Glenn's performance today. Still, it is a win and I am a happy camper. Rock on Riders.
