Do tell, why are the private stations not having the same problem? Could it be that CBC simply is not showing what people want to watch but what the Toronto leftys deem appropriate viewing for the rest of the country? It is not like we are stuck with one or two channels anymore. And then there is CBC radio that is irrelevant in two languages that can't even get any advertisers.

Maybe it's just a silly question. Even folks like me who aren't big fans of the CBC understand that they have a different purpose than private broadcasters. Obviously, if the goal is different, the means of achieving the goal are most likely different.
