Same thing with common law now. Six months of keeping your bed warm and she is entitled to half of your possessions and none of your debts. Or hers.

Yeah a guy I worked with went through that sh*t. He lost a woman and half a house. (And it wasn't even his idea)

No stupid... practicing her religion would be not entering into a gay marriage herself. Using her influence as an authority is forcing her religion on others.

We had a sign on the radio control room wall it said obey God and the CRTC
and not necessarily in that order. This woman is to uphold the law she is not
obliged to agree with the law. She made her choice and should be where she
is IN JAIL.

Ooooooooooh I'm of two minds about the matter, possibly a lengthy suspension or dismissal might be a better choice. I'm of the opinion that in most cases jail should be for those who present a risk to the public or possibly caused damage they are not prepared to make restitution for. You can't stop progress??? so probably best just to go along with the sh*t!

One does not go to work to practice their religion, one goes to work to perform a set of tasks set out in their job description. If said tasks are, or at some point become, so contrary to one's personal beliefs, then it becomes a personal decision as to whether they should continue in that job.

This is a molehill of an issue and people need to stop making it a mountain.

I suppose to some people it becomes a moral issue. It could be considered in the same light as if and when euthanasia becomes the law and a doctor against his code of ethics refuses to perform a euthanasia. Should he have his license revoked?

Pretty big streach in comparison, even with a legal perspective.

Big pile of crap wally. To be polite it could possibly be described as spin bit not fact. She was jailed for refusing to follow the law. The fact that she is a religious wacko has nothing to do with it,

That doctor can always hand the case off to someone else willing to do it.
