We did, stay that is and we did win some more Tec. Medal count as of 5:45PM PST is 16 Gold, 14 Silver and 10 Bronze for a total of 40.

Rock on Canada! :canada:

Apparently, our women's sevens are too shabby either, CC.

We saw both men's and women's matches, including two Canadian women's. I thought that our women played better than our men, were more organized, used the whole field by passing miles to each other. They always looked like they were in control. The Canadian men came within a squeek of losing to the Chileans and they only saved the day with about 15 seconds on the clock, then in sudden death overtime. They came within a hair of being eliminated in the quarter finals by, what looked like, a far better Chilean team. Anyway, they got their act together later. The Canuck women were never anything but the best out there (and the Americans were none too shabby, either,)

Ca-na-da! Ca-na-da! Ca-na-da!

Surprisingly, you don't hear that one. It doesn't have the same cache as those bullnecked jar heads turning purple on the face yelling "U-S-A ! U-S-A !" and looking like they're about to drop a log. That's become one of these planet's ugly images right up there with jihadists firing their Kalashnikovs into the air.

Those aren't jarheads. Jarheads are Marines.

Aside from that, when I'm looking for aesthetics, I'll look somewhere with less plaid and stupid hats.

I guess to figure out who's really ahead, golds should be worth 3 points, silvers worth 2 and bronzes worth 1 point and add them up! :)

It's interesting and I have to say that even I was really surprised. There were something between 15,000-20,000 watching those Rugby matches. The American men and women both played various others during that grouping. Every time the Americans scored ... and I mean every time ...nothing. There was no clapping, booing. There was no acknowledgement at all that anything had happened (except for one pathetic quartet in glittery Uncle Sam hats). There was nothing. It was as if someone had farted in an elevator. The Brazilians were noisy, loud and proud. The Canadian fans cheered for all sorts of other countries when our teams weren't playing but not a peep out of a whole stadium when our neighbours 45 minutes down the highway were playing. I was shocked, actually. I guess it's because we're so "nationalistic" (read not rabidly pro-American).

The damage that's been done over the last decade and a half and along comes these internet knuckle walkers to amplify and exacerbate the growing "dislike". If what I saw on Sunday is any indication, "growing" is what is happening. You should really pay more attention and think about it. Do you really want the whole planet to despise each and every one of you? Just keep up this positive P.R. campaign that you're on.

We don't mind none. We're used to the envy and resentment of the client states.

Speaking of knuckle-draggers, I was enthusiastically cheering Canada's superb performance when you horned in with your anti-U.S. tirade. So spare me your BS. You were the one who turned a nice, supportive, admiring discussion into your pet hate.

Re-read Posts 24 and 25 and tell me who's the jerk here.
