It's not how hard you work it's all about getting more people to work for you
Yep. 20 or so years ago I was working at a firm, and one day one of the senior partners drove up in an amazing Porsche Targa. I commented "Beautiful car, sir!" and he said "I'll tell you what, young man. If you set high goals and work hard to reach them, I'll be able to buy another one next year."

Meet The 80 People Who Are As Rich As Half The World

Pathetic!

Rich people make me sick. They should share the damn wealth and help everyone out!

There is a reason why Oxfam doesn't detail the annual taxes and charitable contributions that many of the 80 pay out each year... The 99% would have nothing to whine about

Chart of who owns the Federal Reserve - Chicago Will County Libertarian | Examiner.com
Federal Reserve Directors: A Study of Corporate and Banking Influence
Published 1976
Chart 1 reveals the linear connection between the Rothschilds and the Bank of England, and the London banking houses which ultimately control the Federal Reserve Banks through their stockholdings of bank stock and their subsidiary firms in New York. The two principal Rothschild representatives in New York, J. P. Morgan Co., and Kuhn,Loeb & Co. were the firms which set up the Jekyll Island Conference at which the Federal Reserve Act was drafted, who directed the subsequent successful campaign to have the plan enacted into law by Congress, and who purchased the controlling amounts of stock in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1914. These firms had their principal officers appointed to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Federal Advisory Council in 1914. In 1914 a few families (blood or business related) owning controlling stock in existing banks (such as in New York City) caused those banks to purchase controlling shares in the Federal Reserve regional banks. Examination of the charts and text in the House Banking Committee Staff Report of August, 1976 and the current stockholders list of the 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks show this same family control.

The seventh richest person in history was William the Conqueror (King William I of England). When he died fighting the French in 1087 he left the equivalent of $229.5 billion to his four sons, two of whom became King of England - William II and Henry I.

His Plantagenet descendants were a nasty, treacherous bunch of bastwards.

Money does not buy happiness.

A lot of this is wealth on paper. For example, the CEO of Hanergy Group lost $14 billion dollars, half of his wealth, in a single day.

The richest person ever was King Mansa Musa I, the ruler of the Malian Empire which covered modern day Ghana, Timbuktu and Mali. He was worth $400 billion in today's money at the time of his death in 1331.
Really? Try the ones that put the Queeny on a workhorse when she is 90. Way to spin that one into w 'win'.

-1 from Walter on this topic.. Red Neck Retirement plan, from his CPP to winning the LottoMax this weekend.
How many would have gotten from me in this life so far? (besides one for your whining)

Red neck retirement plan is to take your problem out to help you bag a moose. (unless he needed killin and then main-street was the place to take it)

Oh I'm thankful.. but if I ever get that filthy rich, I would want to build homeless shelters, and better housing for Native Indians in both Canada and the United States.. many tribes are stuck in hereditary addiction because of White people and they live in squaller. No individual should be treated like that..

I just see myself giving back to the people, the community in a more hands on way..

People have a right to dignity and the young people need after school activities, hockey, lacrosse, keeping care of horses or other farm animals, better schools..

We are to greedy.

There is lots one person can do to enrich Canadian communities..

That is an awesome idea. From your included data the abandoned house is still standing. How much would it rent out to a homeless crew who would do some chores in exchange for some 'maintenance chores'. Tear out the lawns or let something graze on the grass. Can't go too far wrong with gardens and root cellars in case a bridge goes out somewhere. The current homeless would include many 'experts' to their input would eliminate all the red tape and expense.associated with many meeting far from the actual location of the 'trouble'.
Reservations should have the water rights still intact, now a distribution system that is maintenance free once it is installed.
Put some water tanks in the ceiling and with some creative insulating and roof design you could have hot and cold water in the evening thanks to the sun alone. Geothermal heating and cooling is cheap to install and running a few small water pumps would be all that is needed to eliminate dependency on high volumes of gas.

The irony in that would be hard to beat really.

I agree with all of that, but at the same time I recognize many, many supposedly and truly rich people are already doing a lot of the "heavy lifting" to make a better world. Jim Pattison comes to mind as a person who on several occasions has made donations in the $million range. Actually he managed Expo 86 for a year or so for $1.

Gawd helps those that help themselves. Even you should know that.

I get the sense there is a lot of jealousy happening here because some people got a bit more money.

Use the proper spelling and your argument falls short of being even remotely likely.

It isn't jealousy when the facts on the table are about a group of men who would arrange the death of 100M in 2 needless World Wars while at the same financing both sides in their created wars just to put the world into debt at interest. Go ahead and admire them, they have a good reason for changing the Bible. Liars, cheats, thieves seem to be the stepping stones most used by them and that is what you admire, that makes you a bit slimy in my opinion.
