3-0 Canada half way through the game. Very intense gold medal match.

Make that 4-0. Some serious *** kickin in the making.

It's half way through the 3rd period and the Russians have 7 total shots on goal.

Thanx for posting that. I was able to catch the final 13 minutes of the game (had forgotten about it). 6-1 final.

Never a loss from start to finish and in doing so they earned a $1.3 million bonus for Hockey Canada. The most dominant team in the entire series. That's our Guys!

And in winning Gold in the World's Sidney Crosby, who scored a goal and had an assist in this game, joins the Triple Gold Club. Rock on Sid. That said, every single guy on this team contributed to our Gold Medal and the games that got them to it, and I thank them with all my heart.

I am beyond proud of these guys.

Well its over and the Canucks when they have the right guys there win.
So much for the myth of Russian Super Stars. When the hitting and
hard play starts the Sedin twins and the Russians are seldom found.
Today the Russians were out skated as well truly a great display of
what team effort can do

One wonders if the Canadians were playing in the proper division. They seemed to completely outclass everybody they played (except maybe France and the Checks).

Looks like the Russians tried to intimidate the Canadians.

"I thought that we got a little extra motivation from the Russian team today," said McLellan. "Their staredown in the warmup was just exactly what our team needed. We talked about which staredown would be more important — the one before the game or the one after. We decided the one after would be more important so we appreciated the motivation."

awesome statement by him, apparently he will be announced soon as someone's new nhl coach, I wonder which
team, or maybe he already has been announced and I missed it, don't know, hope its Edmonton.

I realize now that when they talked about jagr as the retired old guy, they were talking about international
hockey, not nhl, cause he is signed for another year in florida.

I said to my wife I was most happy for him. He's had many good teams that have failed when the chips were down. Now he can put winner on his resume.

actually what I meant was if the goal had not been taken back it could have lit a fire under czechs asses and changed the outcome of the game.

You are right there. but a goal might have spurred either side to greater efforts.

Most of the Russians left the ice prior to the Canadian National anthem. A handful defied what the group was doing and stayed. Ovechkin and Malkin stayed. Good on them for showing some class despite the classless showing by by rest of the team. Apparently the Russian hockey federation will sanction the players who left. Not sure what that will be. At least the Russian organization knows and admits that what happened was wrong on their part.

it was tied up for a while there.

Yeah, Canada let their foot off the gas in the second but came back in the 3rd and with just a few seconds left in the game, it looks like our guys will take this one - yep 5 - 2. Taylor Hall got two goals and barely missed a hat-trick. Canada tops their pool.

I've seen all of Canada's games in this tournament, they have a very exciting team very young,
cory perry is the oldest player on the team, and at one point, Gallagher was the oldest player
on the ice for team Canada, just shows how young the team is, I love it.

I'm sure many players are skipping this tournament, and will wait for the one in Toronto in
September, doesn't matter, there are quite enough good players to represent Canada in this
tournament.

connor mcDavid, is the cream of this team, his talent is mind blowing, as he skates around setting
up player after player, and taylor hall and cory perry are on his line most of the time, and they
are benefitting from his fine play, and of course, they are both fine players in their own right.
