Then you must also realize that you're the one running your mouth (with the deepest sense of pride I'd imagine) that you passed grade 7.

You opened the door, I am just pushing you through

It's the usual B.S. from Liberals, if you disagree with their Liberal Utopianism you are suddenly a Rasist, Homophobe, Islmophone, Sexist, Worse Than Hitler!

But of course they like to take the high road, proving they are more sophisticated or intelligent than you. Grade 7 Science ;)

I'm prouder than that, I passed grade 10. Of course your science was only at a grade 7 level, so there's the door, guess you pushed yourself through.

I know you're all the dude, but not worse than Hitler, give yourself some credit.

Really quite fun poking you closed minded with a blunt stick.

Far from close minded, it's my OP.

I agree we need to do something to protect the environment, and I think technology is moving to slow.

Look at countries such as Norway. I pick that country because I am 50% Norwegian. The other 50% German. (you know the Hitler part) ;)

Hydrogen Cars and a Hydrogen Highway are already being used..

We will always need Oil for plastics, clothing and medicines, which is the bulk use of plastics.

so... do nothing? No preventive measures... no adaptive measures... no mitigating measures? Nothing? Just do nothing?

Adapt or go the way of the dinosaurs. The question posed is how to adapt. Adaptation requires persuasion instead of hectoring and haranguing.

Income redistribution schemes disguised as fighting climate change will allow your opponents to rally the working class and the middle class against you. It is the working and middle classes who will bear the burden of adaptation. That should be apparent. The working and middle classes are primarily voting for Republicans in the US. Perhaps it is necessary to persuade the Republicans that the environmental movement is green and not red. Perhaps the first order of business would be to persuade your opponents that you act in good faith without ulterior motives.

Oh dear. The relics of just 300-400 years ago. It's neat how other Canadian alpine glaciers are exposing a far higher treeline with trees and elk poop melting out from the last time there was AGW 600 years ago.

More like trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon... All the while ignoring the reality that the water just returns to the ocean through the sand

There are things that could be done. Conservation is fine, but politicized environmentalism is bad.

Illegal immigration is an example. Illegal immigration increases demands upon the environment such as water usage and the expansion of consumerism. If for no other reason illegal immigration should be fought.

The underlying problem in adapting to climate change is that it is not possible to work with environmentalists. They aren't green. They are red.

A number of years ago the Sierra Club held a vote on whether to oppose illegal immigration because of its detrimental impact on the environment. The membership voted not to oppose illegal immigration because the illegals were the coalition partners in the Democratic Party. Thus, the Sierra Club betrayed the environment.

Do you really want to go there...

Don't tell me you wouldn't hit that?

Grades 7 through 10 must have been the best 9 years of your life.

Betcha wished that you hadn't stuck your foot in your mouth on this, eh?

My foot is not in my mouth.
You said almost 100% of life on earth was carbon based.
Carbon-based life - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know this is only Wiki but feel free to post all about the non carbon based life on earth. You know, when you take your foot from your mouth.

The odds are pretty high that the east will get the snow that disappears from the Rockies as the warmer Pacific water tuns BC into what used to be California weather. At least they won't have to travel far to see one in living color.

"waldy dork"??? Do you interpret this manner of pointed insult to be accepted by this boards moderators... encouraged by this boards moderators? Do you have a causal tie(s) behind world-wide glacier melt?

The mods have not fired a shot at me yet, dork. Yep i have a causal tie, it is called.......glacial melt is a normal part of not being in an arctic environment. Warming is normal and a part of the Earth's development. If it bothers humans then we need to talk to the forces that run space in general, tell them to keep on so we can lie for money or perhaps thank them for warning us.

Do you really want to go there...

Aw geez Boomer........i keep looking at my finger and thinking......what would Ronnie do?

There are things that could be done. Conservation is fine, but politicized environmentalism is bad.

I an get fully behind conservation and measures to mitigate pollution etc.... Problem in the climate change file is that they have fabricated a faux scenario that doesn't exist, hence the ability to raise monies, tax and/or financially punish whomever is the most convenient target at the time.

As EagleSmack has asked on many occasions: How many bank transfers will it take to stop global warming?

Illegal immigration is an example. Illegal immigration increases demands upon the environment such as water usage and the expansion of consumerism. If for no other reason illegal immigration should be fought.

A spin on the above issue represents one of the most significant hypocrisies in this entire argument... The AGW position is completely founded (unwittingly on their part) by the reality that this issue, as they have defined it, is premised on the number of actual emitters in the overall equation.

The quality of the emissions are secondary really, but most important is the overall number.

By virtue of the logic that they should be following, assuming they want to actually stem man made GHGs, would be to initiate a mass cull in order to bring in line the emissions with what the Earth (in their view) can be sustainable.

Advancing that kind of logic would certainly result in that ideology being socially condemned and obviously, no funding from gvt, NGOs, private donations, etc.

The underlying problem in adapting to climate change is that it is not possible to work with environmentalists. They aren't green. They are red.

I see the problem in that the professional enviro groups are simply business' that pretend to operate as non-profits and/or charities... They know that they exist solely when there is confusion and discord on this issue. It is in their best interests top forment as much discord and confusion as possible

Don't tell me you wouldn't hit that?

Hit it with what?

clarification point: what "faux scenario"?

 glacial melt just happens, cause... it's normal!!! Oh my!

Adapt or go the way of the dinosaurs. The question posed is how to adapt. Adaptation requires persuasion instead of hectoring and haranguing.

and if you don't have a multi-tiered approach your singular focus on adaption only (without mitigation) will simply be an ongoing iterative undertaking and increasing emissions and resultant feedbacks due to warming will simply impact on adaptive measures already taken.

Income redistribution schemes disguised as fighting climate change...

"schemes" such as... what? Disguised..... how?

I'd hitter in the sh*tter like Tex Ritter woulda did her..

You have a way with words that puts the great playwrights and poets of the English language to shame. You are the equal of Shakespeare, Stoppard, Thoreau, Wordsworth, Keats, Ginsberg, Ron Jeremy, and Lexington Steele. :)

Hit it with what?

Hit it like Jack Hammer.

A multi-tiered approach? Adaptation is a form of evolution. Mitigation is called Conservation.

Environmentalism is a form of corporatized pagan ritual.

"schemes" such as... what? Disguised..... how?

E.g., the redistribution of financial resources from the working and middle classes in the First World to Third World autocrats in the form of Cap N Trade.

.. Like the seas rising by 20m?... Ice free North by 2013?.. Continental droughts?... Mass famine?... Floods?... Locusts?...

Ring any bells?

I'm still grinning from this.

Well put.

Funny how that redistribution of capital doesn't address anything remotely connected to carbon of GHGs.

That's why we can't work with the left. They have ulterior motives for everything they do.

I've brought those "predictions" up to wally in the past and he completely ignores it.
