True. Nor will god be dead as long as there is one person insecure enough to need a Great Big Sky Daddy to help him face the world.

84% of the world's population has faith. There are 5.8 billion religiously dedicated people in the world, with the majority of humans believing in either the Christian god (which is the one true god) or some other deity or deities. Religion isn't dead. It's just dead in the West, and even then that's mainly amongst Christians. Amongst the West's Muslims it's an entirely different matter, with over 80% of British Muslims, for example, believing in Allah and seeing their faith as important to them and their lives. The fact that religion isn't dead (outside the West) was evident in the 6 million Catholic Christians who turned up to see the Pope in the Philippines, the largest crowd ever to see the Pope. Religion is nowhere near dead. It matters to over eight in ten people on Earth.

The only insecure people on this planet in these matters are the atheist minority like you. Although, I rather suspect you're used to your views being minority views.

Bollocks. Religion isn't dead. It may be dead in the modern wishy-washy, materialistic West, but in the rest of the world religion is still very much popular and those with religious beliefs are on the increase. You only need to look at the millions of Filipinos who turned out to see the Pope the other day to see that.

Yes and the world is becoming a more welcoming, loving, peaceful place everyday because of it..........

There are too many things unknown to try and pin it all down to one entity............

Obviously it is to you. Your statement below is very clear. "God is a word that represents the unknown."

God is a word that represents the unknown.
I find it offensive when people can't admit there are things we don't know.

From what I can remember, and if I am wrong I apologize, you do not believe in God. So tell me, seeing as you don't even believe in God, how can you make the above statement?

Personally, I don't know of anyone that believes that "God represents the unknown".

To me the unknown is the unknown.
Humans invented God to explain the unknown.
For example, we now know Thor is not responsible for thunder.
Knowledge rendered that God irrelevant.
I have the confidence to believe that we will know enough to create another universe
albeit in the distant future.
We are God.
