Anyone who doesn't object to cold Camembert is a barbarian, a pig, and unfit to represent Canada, or any part thereof, in any capacity.

Cold Camembert, forsooth!

From the Dec. 1, 2014 to Feb. 28, 2015, Ruth charged $5,799.09 in living expenses in the national capital region and $11,014.87 in travel "between the senator's province/territory of appointment and the National Capital Region."

Ruth lives in Toronto.

I don't know. I agree that airline food is horrible. I thought they stopped serving it actually. These days you get a free coffee and a miniscule packet some kind of unidentifiable cracker-like substance.

What are Canadian Senators for, if not to maintain standards? Ain't like they fulfill any significant political or governing function.

A Conservative senator today bristled at questions auditors have put to her about her expenses, saying she shouldn't be expected to eat airline breakfasts.

In case you missed this:

Sources said former Liberal senator Rose-Marie Losier-Cool has been asked to account for about $100,000. When CTV News contacted her by phone, she refused to comment and hung up.

Question... is it unusual for a Senator to put in for a breakfast instead of accepting the cheese and crackers provided?

Is that an excessive use of funds?

Re: 'Conservative' senator whining about being served 'ice cold camembert'

In Flossy world, it's a hanging offence

There were times on a business trip that I ate a breakfast before getting on a plane where the only service would be a beverage and maybe some peanuts. I would turn the slip in to be reimbursed.

Was I unethical?

As far as Flossy is concerned... he lied. She did not complain about being served ice cold camembert. The truth was not as exciting to him.

Do you think it is because she is a woman that he singled her out?
