Wednesday nite rivalry in which the NHL presents the Original Six was a barn burner again. Great, intense hockey.

well, i was actually just listening to the games, my dAughter is visiting from
ucluelet, she comes first, always.

My feelings aren't hurt too much when anyone beats Boston!:)

I think we may have to get used to the fact Calgary could be a contender for the playoffs, however Canucks are in excellent position right now with several games in hand against three team just ahead of us. With any luck at all they can pass all of them. :)

yep. calgary definitely are starting to look like the real thing, i like how they play, good defense

and they are becoming a well rounded team, with a good coach. vancouver lost a year last season,

so they are catching up now, and this season is definitely a transition, but they Are hanging in

there, might make the playoffs, might not, but this coach and gen. manager will build

a nice team, i have no doubt.

They'll make it, Talloola, right now they are in the last playoff spot in the west with games in hand on every team ahead of them and it looks doubtful if any team below them can catch them. But hey stranger things have happened, but I doubt if it's going to! :)

don't underestimAte A few of those teams below them, l.a. for one.

tanev and corado are both out of the lineup tonight, injury to tanev, and i think corado is sick.,

Isles > Philly 3-2 in a wild shoot out

ends their three game losing streak - early in the game rookie Ryan White had a fight with Isles Matt Martin and landed a solid right to his nose = you could see it move from one side to the other as that hay maker sure hit its mark -- this was White's first NHL fight and he made it a memorable one

Not a time for knee jerk reactions, #Juan. They lost to a team who they've already beat twice this season, while a couple of their key players are injured. Which "losers" would you get rid of? While definitely not one of their better games, I thought they played quite well until one of the Sedins took a stupid penalty to put them down two players. Sedins actually had a little more spark tonight from what I could see. They also had a goal or two disallowed. They'll bounce back.

the defense was very thin tonight, but yes, you're right, they didn't lose much ground, life goes on,
they'll win another day.
be good when tanev and corado are back, don't know how bad tanev's injury is, they showed the replay,
and he seemed to hit his head from that hard bodycheck.

Leaves ... oops, Leafs are on a bigger losing streak than Eagle and have now gone oh for 11

Pat Elias scores goal # 400

Gordie Howe was honored today and it was great to see him back on his feet considering how serious the earlier reports were about him. I wish Mr Hockey a full recovery and many more years of good health and activity.

For the early days in the season the West was outplaying the East bigtime, if you check now you'll see the other shoe has dropped.

just read the story of how they took him to mexico for stem cell surgery, and how he made
a very fast recovery shortly after it was done, and continued improving. they didn't
think he would make it through the trip, he was in such bad shape, but that surgery
turned everything around.

Yep, there's been many naysayers about this stem cell business, I know George Bush took a lot of heat over it. Makes you wonder if the scientists aren't on to something! I guess if something works that's about all the proof you need.

gordie's son, who is a doctor said that his condition had worsened to a stage where they thought he
only had a short time to live, 'until' they made that trip, and he (the doctor) said he had never seen
such a turn around toward recovery. i wonder how long this will last, And also how many treatments,
if any more, he will need.

probably costs big bucks.

Yeah, I certainly thought Gordie was pretty close to the end of his ball of twine a month or so back. But hey, there's good news on two fronts, one being that stem cells are effective to some degree and second Gordie has another lease on life and besides even if it is big bucks, if there anything more important for him to be spending his money on? I'm sure every case helps advance the science. Long live Gordie!

yep, all sorts of luck to him, every day on this earth is precious, life is too short as it is, shouldn't
have to shorten it even more.
